My 2 Friends and I attended the Longhorn off washington St tonight 03/19/25. Walked in to the host saying she “ couldn’t calculate a wait time or estimate “ ( we’re all food industry people i understand not knowing an accurate time but an estimate would be nice ). We got sat in Jackson’s section ( A certified trainer labeled on his shirt ) Who was not properly trained. One of my friends who is allergic to pork asked the server if we could get ( no bacon ) in the potato soup and the server said yes. again A CERTIFIED TRAINER said yes to no bacon. Upon receiving our order my friend discovered what looked to be bacon in the soup. We called the manager over , not just a manager “ the GENERAL MANAGER “ ( TJ ) he said his name was. Who walked up nonchalantly and first thing said was “ do you want something else “ not “ i heard their was a mishap how can i help” ( AGAIN WE ARE FOOD INDUSTRY PEOPLE) very understanding. We explained the issue about the bacon and the manager was quick to say there was bacon already in the soup. Which was not told to us by our server ( a certified trainer ) after stating “ he made the soup himself “ that their was bacon. It’s not about what you say it’s about HOW YOU SAY IT. a simple “ I do apologize for the mishap here is XYZ for the inconvenience etc…” We weren’t looking for a discount or anything but a “ genuine manager “ would have been nice to have to de-escalate a situation at our table. Instead we got an incompetent GM , who couldn’t even offer anything for the issue “ I DONT KNOW WHAT YOU WANT ME TO DO “ is crazy to tell a table who just told you they received an item “ WITH AN ALLERGY “. No shade to the server i think he was improperly trained but seeming from the Head Management interaction we had tonight i understand why. Food was good but sad that they have a manager running their establishment and doesn’t know how to handle ANY customer issue. ( Again we all are good industry people and we were all 3 baffled by the way the manager handled the situation. People at my job have been terminated for the same thing. I...
Read moreI would like to share my experience at Longhorn Steakhouse on East Washington Street in Indianapolis, Indiana.
It was my daughter's 25th birthday. When we arrived at the restaurant, we were not greeted. A younger employee asked about the size of our party without welcoming us. The general manager was standing nearby and I inquired about any outlets to charge our devices, but he informed us that all outlets were not working. As we made our way back to our table, we noticed food and trash scattered on the floor.
We were led to a table that was still dirty, and 25 minutes later, it had not been cleaned. The server finally approached us to take our drink and appetizer orders, but we never received any silverware or straws even after waiting for 15 minutes.
Our appetizers were brought out without any silverware or drinks. When our dinner order was taken, our food was served without any silverware, and it arrived cold and unappetizing. We informed the staff about the issues, they took the food away, but did not address the problems in a timely manner.
After an hour, we requested the bill and some to-go boxes. The busser initially provided only two boxes, and the waitress returned with the bill that included the food we had returned to the kitchen.
I spoke to the manager and expressed that this was the worst dining experience I had ever encountered at any restaurant. He mentioned that he was preoccupied with other matters during the process. The waitress apologized, citing it as a long day. I hesitated to leave a tip, but my daughter reminded me not to let their actions affect my character.
I want to emphasize that this was the worst dining experience I have had in my 56 years. This level of service needs to be corrected. No one should have to spend $150 dining out and be treated with such disregard and neglect by employees who show no care for...
Read moreliterally one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had in my whole life. stopped in here Christmas Eve with my brother, it took at least 20 minutes after being seated to even get silverware to eat the bread that was getting cold because I had no silverware, the waitress was nice but she was skiddish and afraid for some reason kept rapidly leaving the table instead of working harder to take care of us. My brother couldn't get any craft beers, I could not get a white Russian, I could not get a chocolate martini, I could not get a strawberry daiquiri, I could not get a piña colada, I could not get a sweet potato they were out I ordered spinach dip and they could make it. My brother tried to order something else and they were out of it. And at some point the waitress said we're closing in an hour anyway, not a very good thing to say to someone who's just had a long list of disappointments presented to them. The manager mentioned that they had some power failure or cooler failure problems and shortages and such. I've had restaurants comp me for a steak that wasn't cooked right without me even asking and I don't ask for free food but this restaurant didn't offer anything for the inconveniences that were presented to me. the steak I ordered was cooked good and the mashed potatoes were good. So even I felt a little bad for them and left her a $30 tip for a $60 meal and really didn't get much appreciation for that. Another life lesson learned I don't think I will be coming back to this restaurant. I was not...
