Caught Sue Glenna (office personnel/ resident site 52) exiting my camper upon my return from eating Nextdoor at “The Crazy Hay Barn” with my family. Sue Glenna’s justification for entering my home was that my dogs were barking and that they belonged inside. It was a perfect 69 degrees outside. We were next door to her I later found out. She didn’t like the barking. Doubtful any complaints at all between 8-9:30. They rarely bark unless someone is walking up. I didn’t press charges. Certainly didn’t want to put my 10 yr old through that. Didn’t want him to have to feel like he had something to do her going to jail by making a statement as a witness. We were having a good time up to that point until finding the woman creeping out of our travel trailer. After speaking with Officer Ruiz with Ingram PD, he confirmed at minimal she would face criminal trespassing if I did press charges. My game warden brother in law didn’t even know the new “no chain law”. However, Officer Ruiz confirmed I did nothing unlawful after reviewing the law with me. When the groundskeeper was notified by Sue Glenna that I was angry, she came and treated me like I was the criminal for tethering my dogs while eating and then said she could tow my travel trailer. I was not yelling, cursing, or being disrespectful despite the circumstance. Horrible experience. Not so much as an apology for Sue Glenna entering my travel trailer. My boy was the only barricade stopping me from showing them how wrong they were lawfully. See the two culprits below (Sue pictured left. The groundskeeper pictured right).

My family stayed four nights at HTR this past spring break. We were presently surprised at how relaxing and nice this park is. The view on the road to the park makes you question where your headed and the entrance is a little tight. You have to block the gate to get checked in because there is no real parking for checking in. The office was very nice and clean. The staff was very friendly. She took the time to make sure the site that was picked was good for our rig. We were in site 12. Its a nice right hand back in against the creek/river. The RV area is small compared to other parks, which is a good thing. The property is huge with walking trails, disc golf, fishing, swimming, and nature. It was so quiet and relaxed. The Wi-Fi is excellent. There is a card entry gate, so we felt secure and safe. Some sites are longer than others so if you have a large rig you might need to ask. Our site did have some sort of water pump shed next to it but it didn't make any noise, just blocked some of the view. HTR is in great location for the area, we were minutes from everything. Fredericksburg is only 30 minutes away. I highly recommend HTR, we will be back on our next visit to Kerrville.

Stayed 3 months during Feb. and May. Had a great time fishing, kayaking and taking long walks. Very quiet park. Take the bridge to the 1/2 mile long island for fishing or a picnic. The park is on a branch of the Guadalupe River with the island between. Park is mostly level but well maintained. Restrooms are very clean with large showers. Staff is very courteous and helpful. Rates are great both monthly and daily. A friend paid $17 a night with Passport America. They get quite a few "winter Texans" from all over the US. Some have been coming for years. Cell Phone reception is good but WIFI can be slow in certain areas of the park. Good weekend music and food is 50 feet from park. UPDATE 9/30/2021. New owners. They cancelled my reservation as they will be closed February and March, perhaps longer, for upgrades. The monthly rates almost doubled. Many winter visitors will be effected as some have come each winter for a decade or longer. They may be trying to chase out the long term visitors. Had to change rating.

We absolutely loved our stay here! My kids said it was their favorite vacation. We stayed here for a weekend to visit family in the area. The cabin was very clean and ready for us. We got in late from traveling, but they made it easy to figure out what to do. We rented kayaks and a paddle board from the office so we could all spend time on the river together. Life jackets were included which was awesome! They let us keep them til morning so we didn’t have to rush. The owners and employees were all so kind and helpful! We will absolutely be coming back! It was quiet and peaceful. Everyone staying was respectful of each other so there was no excessive noise at night. A family of ducks walked right by our cabin every morning. There are lots of birds to see too. This location along the river is beautiful. You can wade in the area in front of the cabins and then go over a bit to the actual river. Thank you so much for your hospitality!

OMG!!! This is the 4th stay we have had with BTR campgrounds in the past 5 years! The first 4 where in our small camper “eggward” 🤣 and we had to use the very clean and very warm restroom and showers provided by the campgrounds!!! (Always in February for our anniversary) This time we rented a cabin (tiny home) because we had our granddaughter and we love traveling with her. We had the best time! Stayed Feb 11-17 originally we were going to stay 11-15 but added a few days because we didn’t want to leave! We enjoyed the Egyptian Geese and their babies ❤️ 🦆 the deer came so close we could almost touch them! The grounds are so beautiful and well kept. The view is amazing!!! The people who run this site are so sweet and accommodating! I would give 10 stars ⭐️ if I could. We will always be back! Thank you so much for our beautiful week ❤️❤️❤️

Staff is friendly and obliging. Sites are extremely close as you can see in the pics. The river is not much to write home about just a little paddling up and down in front of the park. We wanted a challenge so we paddled the four miles to lake Nimitz. We called and asked the park if they could come pickup my husband at one of the boat docks and take him back to the rv park and was accommodated. The paddling was smooth except in a few places where we had to walk dragging our kayaks. Took us a little over 2 1/2 hours paddling when in deep enough water. This is the only stretch of the Guadalupe River in Kerrville you can kayak because there are so many dams impossible to maneuver around.
