At 38 years old with no prior gym experience, I didn't know the first thing about working out. I had decided to prioritize my health at the new year. My goals were to swap fat for muscle, learn how to lift heavy to stave off osteoporosis, to learn good form and to avoid injury in the gym. What originally brought me to Train with Dave is their scientific approach to fitness and diet. They don't push trendy, extreme measures. Instead, they teach sustainable lifestyle changes. Although I'm at the beginning of this journey, I can already see changes taking effect. Everyone around me is commenting on how much toner I already look.
They assigned me to Gio and it has been a fantastic fit. I never dread showing up for the gym. I had tried some non gym fitness classes in the past and I used to absolutely dread the loud, smelly, frenzied environment. I feel peace as I approach this gym. The facility is clean, well ventilated and never feels overly crowded. There are no gym bros grunting their way through sets. Gio is as calm as a placid lake. He is thorough with his corrections but would never berate or scream at you. Its a sweaty, but almost meditative experience. He's great at monitoring for potential problems. Gio is on top of making any adjustments to the routine that is needed. The approach is personalized. He's well educated and well trained. I confidently recommend him to my friends.
The app they provide has been incredibly helpful. It gamifies the process and makes me more competitive with myself. My diet is logged in daily and I receive guidance from Gio. I was given a lot of nutritional tips that have made getting the right macros feasible. I am never hungry. In fact, I don't believe I have ever been this full in my life, but my clothes are looser than ever. They're hands on with every aspect of your journey, from diet to training to at home workouts.
They're incredibly accommodating and flexible with scheduling. It makes it possible for me to train even with my erratic schedule.

I was fortunate to be paired with Jacob, who has been a constant source of support and guidance throughout this journey. When you initially join, your trainer will assist in tailoring your workout plan to align with your goals and set up a nutrition plan. Jacob took the time to understand my individual limitations, strengths, and weaknesses, helping me improve my form and build confidence in the gym. The gym also provides an app that helps you track your water and food intake, sleep, and workouts. This app allows you and your trainer to monitor your progress effectively.
I am extremely fortunate and grateful to have been paired with Jacob. He is incredibly knowledgeable in fitness and nutrition, and is evidently passionate about what he does.
