Last month, I was in Texas helping my son and his family move. While based in Austin, I hoped to take advantage of being “nearby” (compared to home) and visit The American Journey Experience in Dallas. Because our schedule was fluid, I couldn’t commit in advance. I attempted to purchase a ticket the night before my only available time, but the online window had already closed. I reached out via email explaining the situation and was pleasantly surprised to receive a quick and kind response. They made it possible for me to attend on short notice, and I’m incredibly grateful they did.

I had been fortunate to attend the exhibit they put on in St. George, Utah, in the summer of 2023. That event left a deep impression on me—particularly seeing a working draft of the Declaration of Independence. Learning how it had to be changed in order to achieve a unanimous vote was powerful. The parts that were removed directly challenge the modern narrative that our nation was founded on slavery. I’ve always held a deep reverence for our founding documents and firmly believe they were inspired by the hand of God. Ever since that event, I’ve looked forward to visiting the Dallas location to relive and expand on those experiences—and this visit did not disappoint.

The tour began with a walk through the pop culture and memorabilia section. I don’t remember the name of the young man who led this part of the tour, but he was enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and enjoyable to listen to. As someone who loves classic films (even the ones others call “old”), vintage Disney, and American pop culture, I really appreciated the way this part of our history was presented. He did a great job guiding our small group and setting the stage for what followed.

He then turned the tour over to Stephanie, who led us into the vault. What an experience. We learned so much about the founding of our nation—about the people, the principles, and the divine thread that connects it all. The stories we were told were illuminating, uplifting, and honest. Of course, our history is not without pain and mistakes, and I’m grateful that both the good and the bad are being preserved here. One of the most memorable aspects of the vault tour was the opportunity to actually handle some of the artifacts—to touch history. Among many other things, I was able to hold the compass that George Washington always carried with him. That moment left a lasting impression, connecting me in a tangible way to the people and events that shaped our country.

The pursuit of truth never ends, and I deeply appreciate that The American Journey Experience is led by truth-seeking, God-fearing, and God-loving people.

I’m so very thankful for the ongoing efforts of Glenn Beck, WallBuilders, and so many others who are committed to preserving and telling America’s story with honesty, clarity, and reverence. This experience is a gift—and I highly recommend it to anyone with a love for history, truth, and the founding ideals of...

AJE (American Journey Experience) isn't just a museum or a history lesson — it's a portal to the very soul of America's founding. Where most places tell you about history, AJE lets you touch it.

Here, you're not just reading quotes printed on a wall — you're standing inches away from the original documents written and signed by the hands that forged a nation. Every letter, every ink blot, every worn edge tells a story far richer than anything you’ll find in a textbook.

It’s one thing to learn about liberty, sacrifice, and the birth of a nation through secondhand accounts. It’s another thing entirely to hold the actual truth in your hands — to feel the weight of history, not as a distant concept, but as a living, breathing reality.

At AJE, history is not sanitized or oversimplified. It’s complex, raw, and deeply personal. You come away understanding not just what the founding fathers said, but what they meant — their struggles, their doubts, their audacity in the face of impossible odds.

Whether you’re a lifelong history buff, a curious traveler, or simply someone seeking to reconnect with what makes America Exceptional, AJE delivers an experience that is powerful, humbling, and profoundly moving.

This is where America's story isn’t just...

Absolutely fantastic experience at AJE! Not only is the extensive collection amazing to see - the personal items they have from George Washington and Abraham Lincoln were particular favorites of mine - but the knowledge of the guides and the experience they provide is outstanding. David was a wealth of knowledge on a wide variety of historical topics. It was easy to see he's passionate about history and an excellent communicator. I especially enjoyed David pointing out his personal favorites and sharing insights he's learned since starting to volunteer at AJE. Beyond the tour, Elijah and Stephanie treated us like VIPs (we are definitely not - just regular people) and were kind, generous, and gracious with their time and efforts to make the tour extra special just because they love what they do and love sharing AJE with people. Go take this tour - it is well worth the relatively small fee and you...

The American Journey Experience with Glenn Beck, Mercury One, and WallBuilders was absolutely life-changing! Seeing original documents and artifacts from our Founders — and even being able to touch them — made history come alive like never before. We learned the true history of America: that it was founded on Biblical principles, not racism. We heard powerful stories about Black Founders and patriots, and about the real relationship between the Pilgrims and Native Americans — stories I never learned even back in school in the 1960s. Most importantly, it reminded me just how deeply faith and belief in God shaped our nation’s beginnings. This experience filled me with hope and pride in our country’s true story. If you have the chance to go, don’t miss it. It’s something every American needs to experience!
