I've gotten a ride on it every visit to this park (Six Flags' flagship NY area park, Great Adventure). Either this last ride was the fastest I've seen it go or I forgot how fast it flies over the track. It's a big and impressive structure with quite a length of track but the momentum of that dazzling first drop carries the train through in a jiffy. It may not be quite as smooth as a steel one of the same layout would be I'd guess, though I'd call it more intense than rough.
I haven't had the chance to ride it in it's early years when it was at the height of it's reputation though a bit of rattling around the turns isn't the most memorable bit in my estimation. For the handful of reviews citing pain from the ride I can only note that my experience isn't like that. My experience at the end of the ride as it glides back into the station is mostly a big endorphin rush with just a bit of wooziness on the side.
Features that stand out are the first hill (both up and down - even after riding it however many times the pace of the lift gets me each time) and airtime. This beast doesn't settle for zero g on most hills but goes right to positive gees (pushing the rider right up against the...
Read moreIve been on ALOT of roller coasters many many times from here now to growing up in new England went on almost every ride there, been on thrill rides since i was about 12, 18 now, and ive never rly had a bad experience besides painful rattling causing head bumping. Until this ride. Made my head whip back from the force. It rly hurt. Im pretty sure its called whiplash, rides are supposed to be fun, not cause neck injuries. Dont know how they dont have more reviews like this. Its dangerous. Theres no support for ur neck or head. The seats are too short. This shouldnt be legal with todays regulations. Its not safe, i was not informed this was possible. It was also just agressive in general too and made me lift upward. I wasnt angling my head in an innapropriate way for something like this to happen. Besides, they had no signs, and not once was this mentioned as a risk. Like i said ive had my fair share of experience with thrill rides, and this was honestly unnexeptable. I dont know how it ever couldve been seen otherwise. Save ur self the hell and go on litterally any other awesome ride. Besides the green lantern. That...
