This movie theater is unacceptable, easily the worst AMC I've ever visited. We were here celebrating my little boys birthday, all he wanted was to go to the movies... Upon entering, the management (a tall guy) opened the doors with obvious irritation, as if we were a nuisance for simply being there. It was a Wednesday, and being homeschoolers, we were practically the only ones in the theater, but that should not excuse the lack of a warm welcome. He didn’t even acknowledge us after we walked in and just walked off without a word. Definitely set the scene.
The two ladies behind the counter were somewhat friendly, but they seemed burned out and disillusioned with their jobs. I can't blame them given the environment. As soon as we entered Theater 6, we were hit by a foul odor, mold and mildew. There were actual holes in the ceiling along with soft and wet spots (I have pictures). The condition of this theater room were appalling, especially considering they were playing a children's movie!
To top it off, we grabbed some popcorn only to find it was cold and stale. Keep in mind, we were the very first customers in the theater after it opened, so they clearly served us leftover popcorn from the night before! We spent over $100 on tickets and concessions, and the experience was nowhere near worth the money...couldn't even be bothered to give us fresh popcorn. Many of their sodas were also out 🤦♀️
After voicing our concerns to the staff, we expected at least a refund or some kind of compensation (not that we would've used it at this location), but all we received was an insincere apology. Rest assured, I will be reaching out to the Better Business Bureau and the health department with all the pictures I took of this place. This is not how customers...
Read moreOkay... so I had an experience here today that I had to share. We went to see Thor at the 2pm showing. On our way in, we ordered a large popcorn. After eating 1/4 or so of the bag, it was nothing more than popcorn crumbs... no full kernels and every time we tried to grab a few, they just fall all over us. So I went up to the counter, explained to one of the guys and showed him the bag. I asked if he wouldn't mind replacing it. He said he would and said it came with free refills anyway. So I was expecting him to throw out what we didn't eat and either give us a new bag or refill ours. Well... he took our bag over to the fresh popcorn, there was a big pile on the left and less on the right, dumped our bag out into the fresh popcorn on the right, moved it around with the scoop they have so the small pieces would fall through the grate on the bottom and refilled our bag and handed it back to me. I walked away from the counter and was thinking to myself, did he really just do that? And then I started to wonder how many other "leftovers" were dumped into the fresh popcorn that day and had been served to new customers... I can't imagine how many health code violations he broke, especially with Covid still being an issue. It made me feel as if my family had been eating out of a dumpster and I've been physically ill since. I'm still shocked that someone would do something like this... It was our first and last time we will ever visit here.
I need to apologize, I saw after posting, for some reason this ended up posting on the Kalli AMC 12 theatre, not the AMC 16 at the mall, where this occurred. So wanted to clarify that this happened at the AMC 16 at the Jacksonville...
Read moreWent to see a movie with my mom and instead, ended up walking out in tears. The line was long and I tried standing in it but knew that I would not make it standing there for another 10-15 minutes. I went to the side to speak to an employee about using the "wheelchair line" even though my wheelchair was not present and explained what my disability was (I have POTS and pass out and have seizure like convulsions) and that I didn't want to just go to that line and cause an issue. The employee then called a manager over who I had to re-explain the entire thing to. He told me next time I need to bring my wheelchair or purchase a ticket online but that he would make a "one time exception" for me. He escorted my mom and I over to the wheelchair line and immediately I was called by the next cashier. Once I got up to her to get my ticket she huffed and rolled her eyes and let me know that "next time I need to stand in the regular line". I was embarrassed and definitely lost my cool and my tears started flowing. I told her I had just spoken to the manager and that it was not ok to treat me as though I was being lazy. I ended up just throwing my hands up and walking out. I brought my handicap placard back in to show the manager and try to speak with him about invisible illnesses and that not everyone looks or fits a criteria on the outside of having a disability. He didn't understand what the problem was and felt as though his employee handled it in a fair matter.
Bottom line...I rarely speak up about how I'm feeling. I rarely use my handicap placard and have a hard time reaching out for help when I need it....this...
