UPDATE Response from owner re my comment. Asked to contact the GM with an email. Why would I do that? You're the owner.
Go karts are fun but be forewarned they control your speed with a remote. If someone in your group does something wrong they'll stop the ENTIRE group to address the problem or slow everyone if someone is going too fast or bumps into a guard rail. Leaves you feeling like the kart is out of your control at first or like it's broken until you figure out what's happening. They'll throw out warnings to you to slow down or not hit the guard rail randomly. It's not a race. They are just go karts for the experience. I was left not even knowing who won. I'm not sure if it's posted somewhere possibly? Photo opps for 1st, 2nd, 3rd or in front of a car. There is a league you can join for a few hundred dollars and they are actual racing competitively. Expect to spend a few hundred for the karts, arcade, axe throwing, and any drinks. I didn't get food or do axe throwing and spent over $250 for 3 races and 2 people arcade while the others completed their races, with 4 non alcoholic drinks. Even the arcade runs pricey for each game. $25 minimum for arcade. $150 minimum for karts unless there was another option that wasn't listed. For that much money for races I personally felt like the remote speed control they had left it feeling like an attraction at a theme park with helmets that was overpriced. Also be prepared it was hot inside. I felt the cold air a few times but it never got comfortable. The karts were quiet because they're electric. The music was what made the place loud overall. If that's something your concerned about know that even so, when you wear the head sock and helmet they give you nothing can be heard through it. Overall it was a fun experience but I felt like this wasn't racing but more of an attraction. For the price I feel like what I was paying for wasn't what I got. I'm sure they have safety precautions to follow so that's why they control the speed or something. It would be better value to go to some type of theme park and enjoy the entire place with go karts. There are two smaller tracks inside, not one big one. Also we went on a Saturday night and I went in the truck a few times to cool off and go back inside as it was fairly hot/humid inside. While in the parking space directly in front of the door I saw a group of young adults leaving. They walked down towards the side of the parking lot and threw and smashed their drink at a car parked 3 spaces down from the front. Parking isn't well lit either so I would try to park as close to the front as possible at night because if it was easy for them to do that without repercussions, It would be really easy to vandalize or break in to a car further down. They had one person working the arcade and ticket turn-in counter so we had to wait for the employee to finish a VR game with the arcade to turn in our tickets for prizes. And they had to wait for someone to play the VR game like wise. Arcade isn't that big. More than 2 games were not working or off completely so we were left playing with what was left over. Cost to play games versus tickets dispensed even with a high win is sub par. It's basically a Chuck E. Cheese for adults and kids. Is it fun? Yes. Is it worth it?...

We work with families in the Urban Core who are mostly forgotten or overlooked. Our goal is to empower these residents to take their next step in becoming self-sustained. Driver's Licences, High School Diplomas, 1st vehicles, a job, these are just a few of the things that we have encouraged and enabled our families in the 32209 to achieve.
We brought 22 children from this community to Autobahn, or as it is now called K1 Speed on February 19th for a STEM class and cart racing. We made our reservation in December. The kids were so excited to learn about all that goes into driving a race car in the STEM class. To our surprise and dismay, they were not able to have our kids in their classroom for STEM which we did pay for ahead of time. The check in process was a mess. Although we pre-registered all of our kids, 8 of our 22 kids were not in their system. This took extra time to get all the info loaded. Our trip to the Autobahn last year was very different from this experience. None of the staff were happy to be there. This sets a tone for their customers. They put 10 and 11 year old's in the same carts as the adults and gave them no instructions. Last year they walked the track with our kids and explained turns and braking to prepare the kids. Last year they also had kids that were 12 and under in the kids cars that are much more controllable for them. Several of our little ones were too scared to go on their 2nd race. They also had no record in their system that we had paid for a 2nd race. I literally had to pull up my emails from December to prove that we had paid for it. After proving our purchase of a 2nd race, and stressing our time crunch ( we arrived at 10am and had to leave by 1:30) at about 12 o'clock, they still allowed 4 groups to go ahead of us. 2 of them were not even there when I explained our time situation. All this to say that by the time half of our kids had finished their 2nd race it was already 1:50. The other half of the kids and the chaperones never got their 2nd race. This caused us to be late for our lunch reservation. Everyone should also know that half of their arcade games do not work. We have taken our kids on over 30 trips in the last 5 years. This was by far the worst experience we have ever had!!
To make matters worse, I shared all of this information with our contact at Autobahn/ K1 Speed. Despite them not providing half of the experience we paid for, the only thing they offered to make up for this terrible experience is 20% off our next visit. I'm leaning towards disputing the charge with our credit...
Read moreFirst of all, the staff were great - professional, friendly, helpful, and accommodating. We really appreciated them! The Go Kart Racing and Axe Throwing were enjoyable (Axe Throwing is a full body workout 😂) However, the races are short - 0 minutes at best, if you take your time. For the price (over $200) for 3 people to do one 12-lap race and one session of axe throwing, the value just wasn't there. We did not know that each person doesn't get the 12-lap race - but whoever is in first finishes their 12 laps, it is over for everyone - so if someone more experiences in driving the karts races with someone who is a complete beginner, the experience driver will likely finish faster, so the beginner might only get 3 or 4 laps, even though you are paying for the full 12. That was disappointing - especially if you're just wanting to drive for fun and not actually compete in racing. The arcade was small with limited games. Fun, but again, not worth the money. The deal for one race and one session of axe throwing said the estimated time was just under 3 hours to do it all. The race was less than 10 minutes and the 1.5 hours of axe throwing, with instruction time included, just didnt add up. We did 45 mins of axe throwing + one race at less than 10 minutes. So for less than one hour total, it was $250 including $25 in arcade games to fill the time. That is just ridiculous for the actual amount of time you go to spend actually doing the activities. At the end of the day, an hour for approximately $250 for our family felt like it was WAY overpriced for what you got - even with the "deals". We had fun, it was enjoyable, the staff was excellent, but definitely not worth the cost. Not something we will waste...
