Dogtopia of Jacksonville Southbank — Attraction in Jacksonville

This place was fantastic when it opened between August 2018 up until there was a change in management early summer 2019. NOW, TERRIBLE! When I picked up my 10lb small dog back in June, he reeked of urine. They gave me wipes to clean him up as well as a bunch of excuses. No big deal right? Well six weeks ago I took him again, thinking it's been a couple months for them to reset. This time, I watched on the camera. Suspecting this was urine (see my pic) I went and picked him up. He smelled absolutely disgusting. I went through six wipes that were turned completely yellow just from cleaning his feet, I should have photographed them on the counter. You guys, they are not taking care of our animals! The manager actually said to me, "This happened the last time you were in here." I asked about no one being in the room, she said short staffed. I asked about the urine, she apologized. I asked about the play equipment being removed, she said it just keeps breaking. I have requested the owner call me, nothing. A colleague experienced the same with her pup and she met the owner one evening at 5:30. Same attitude I got from the manager. She gave her my contact info directly, still nothing. They owe me a couple hundred dollars for prepaid services because I will never go back here. Please be the voice for your animals they don't have.

All I Can say is WOW . Being an owner of show dogs we are always so concerned about where we bring our babies. From the moment I walked in to Dogtopia on Hendrix I felt completely comfortable. Not only was the staff very welcoming and knowledgeable, I was highly impressed with the live feed playing in the lobby and how well the dogs were being cared for. After my extensive tour, I could not wait to bring my dogs here. And even more impressive.... That live feed that I viewed in the lobby came straight to my cell phone!! I was able to keep an eye on my babies the whole time.!! This place is absolutely awesome and provides great socialization for the dogs as well as being cared for as if I were doing it myself. Good care is super hard to find these days and I am so excited to know I have a place for my dogs will be taken care of and I can feel comfortable knowing that they are being cared for so exceptionally well! I have trusted Dogtopia with both daytime play and overnight stays for my Australian Cattle Dog, Rusty, ever since he was only a few months old. Cattle dogs are extremely high energy, and nearly every time I pick him up he is happy and exhausted.

Even when we go on week long trips, a hard occasion for our high-anxiety dog, I know he has a great time. He is always in great spirits and good health at both drop off and pick-up, and seeing his tail wag excitedly as we arrive for drop off tells me all I need to know about how the staff treats him.

Rusty is 3 years old now, and I would not trust him with any other facility. The staff knows him and is always happy to see him, and the planned events are always both cute and fun. He likes the doggy ice cream days, water days, and bobbing for apples in the fall best! The cameras are easy to access and the staff is always quick to answer the phone if you ever have any questions about your pup...
