Sidecar — Restaurant in Jacksonville

I signed up a few of my friends for a tasting of Sherry. The Sidecar hosted several themed events center around this drink. I knew nothing about Sherry, but I was interested in learning. There is actually a week dedicated to Sherry. This event was right up my alley because I love a little education mixed with adult beverages. Also, it gave me a chance to check out Sidecar.

With this being my first time at the Sidecar, I was very impressed. The set up is similar to a garage which I think was intentional. It was a nice transition to sit outside or inside but still feel connected. The bar is located in the San Marco area on Hendricks sheet next to V's pizza which is a good selling point for have drinks and food. The atmosphere is definitely a good place for drinks with friends or co-workers.

I had a blast trying the different types of Sherry. After the event, I felt like I'd be putting Sherry into my drinking rotation at home. Sidecar did an amazing job with this event. I was so impressed. I really enjoyed this establishment and can see myself coming back many many more times...

This is the only place in town you need to visit for a great cocktail. My partner and I continually frequent Sidecar and have no intention of stopping. The cocktail - both the classics and the original concoctions - are always top notch. The place always seems to be busy, but never crowded and crammed. And somehow, the place seems to attract all varieties of folks. Everyone is welcome at Sidecar.

But the best part has to be the bartenders. In the short time that we have been going my partner and I have turned into regulars, and feel so welcome. If asked to play favorites, we'd have to say Robert is our guy. He struck up a friendly conversation with us day one (about Pac-Man, no less) and has been fantastic since. Whenever we go, we always ask him to have fun and create his own unique inventions for us, and he has never disappointed. He will craft special beverages based in his favorites that pair with mine and my partner's specific tastes....

When my wife and I were dating, we frequented V Pizza quite often and loved visiting Side Car next door. They were the perfect addition to our pizza addiction. After we were engaged and planning our wedding, we knew we wanted V Pizza as part of our big day. But when we found out that Side Car offered bartending services, we were sold! Seriously…. Dream team. Matt was wonderful to work with and helped us coordinate all our bar needs- from alcohol recommendations to how many cups we would need. Our guests still talk about how great (and strong!) our drinks were at the wedding and the bartending team was so fun with creating different cocktails for our guests. We even brought our kegerator with Guinness on tap and were very impressed by the care and precision the bartenders put into pouring.
