Mayport Boat Ramp Michael Scanlon — Attraction in Jacksonville

Need more parking spaces for boaters. Doesn't take long for the lot to fill up. Parking enforcement/ towing service to write tickets and tow those cars that park in spaces reserved to boat trailers. Never fails that there are at least 5-10 cars/trucks taking up these spaces. What's up with building a recreational center in the boat overflow parking lot. There wasn't any better place to build this center? Not saying it's not needed but surely there is a better place then here! Your boating community brings in a lot of revenue to the local economy. Was great I’m a new boater it’s a bit intimidating especially the shipping boats and the waves and laws luckily I had two royal navy guys to charter with me. And definitely feel a bit more confident but it is a busy port for a new boat owner.. at least for me I couldn’t work out all the markers the waves from shipping vessels were pretty intense at points. But it is a great landing if you know your boat. I’m by myself tomorrow don’t think I’ll be going back this is a two or 3 person deal. Maybe I’ll get some guys from the ship that have tomorrow...

I am here DAILY. My husband works across the street at Consignment Boat Sales. 🤙

This place DOES get crowded on the weekends, lots of people taking their boats out. Safe, there usually is a cop car in the parking lot.

What I love about it...is the fact that everybody around here is just friendly. Awesome, small town vibe where people always wave to each other with a smile.

Check it out. It's a short, nice drive down. I personally love it. Watch for the wild rabbits on the side...
