I would give this terrible company ZERO stars or NEGATIVE 5 stars if it were at all possible. I needed a new modem/router since ours got zapped from lightning yesterday. Just waited 40 minutes on hold, got transferred four different times, just to be told that the only local branch for a 30 mile plus radius no longer exists and that they can't sell me a modem but they will rent one to me for $10/month. Their DSL service has been marginal (and I'm exaggerating even with that word) for years in our rather rural location. Unfortunately they are the only halfway affordable option in our area as we have no cable service, satellite internet sucks and has too much latency for some needs, and your wallet gets raped for cellular data which has stupid low data caps. So here we are stuck with WindSCREAM (my new nickname for them because their service makes you want to...) for Internet. On a good day, we can watch Netflix at standard definition resolution only. And honestly, that's the only reason I keep this crappy service until something better comes along. The other lady was spot on in her review - these companies are monopolies & the way they operate should absolutely be ILLEGAL. "customer service" to them apparently means the customer is to do them a service by cheerfully paying their bill every month for very poor support and ZERO improvements to the infrastructure. I would drop them in a heartbeat but as I said there are no real alternatives. This is what happens when big companies gobble up all the little guys - service goes in the toilet. Currently I'm looking into a regional WiMax provider, hoping to coax them into our area. Guess what? $75/mo is their -highest- package, NO CAP on data, 6 Mbps! You could learn a lesson from those numbers, WindScream...too bad that you don't listen to what your customers want - or care at all, for that matter. Dear WindStream, please go die in a hole somewhere, and let someone that gives a rat's you-know-what run this business like...
Read moreWe have had kinetic windstream for the past 13 years because it was the only provider where we live and our service is off more than on we literally just had repair techs here in December and January and they swore it was fixed , we here this every month and now here we are again internet is out since yesterday and now no repair techs til February 10th I pay 137 dollars a month for internet that’s off more than on , I called them and tried to get internet working which is impossible, I recently received a mailing from t mobile saying I can get internet through them , maybe I can get real service that’s works from a real company that won’t over charge me and make me wait a week to resolve my issue that was never fixed right the first time I got told today by rep it sounds like they should replace your router well gee really then why do I need to wait til the 10th. Why wasn’t it replaced last time I had to have a service call , disturbing really sick of it UPDATE: I already received T-Mobile internet all I can say is WOW big difference and half the price thank you windstream for pushing me by being slow, please if you are sick of high bills and slow internet that is always out try T-MOBILE I cannot believe the difference and the price and the price won’t change...
Read moreEMAIL MEGAN GAVE ISNT “DELIVERABLE The service I got was terrible. The internet was so sluggish and didn’t work half the time. Every time I called, they told me a different story. Either reception issues, I was on the wrong band, my GOOGLE HOME device was taking up too much internet and etc. another tech said those weren’t the reasons... none of that made sense to me. I called multiple times in the span of 6/7 months with issues. I asked for a tech to come out and I was told “ we don’t just send them out”. For $103.48 a month I should not have an issue especially if I can’t plug one device in that “supposedly” took up all the high speed. The echo I barely used lol . When I finally cancelled I was transferred to 3 people. At this point they offered a tech to come out, free service for 2 months etc. to which I replied “ you wouldn’t send a tech before and what’s the point in two free months if my internet hardly works”. They did not have a good response for that. THEN, the still continued to charge me after services. They told me they can only refund me $31 out of the $103.48 because of the 2 week service I had. Which whatever. I would. It recommend this internet...
