Let me preface this by say, this is by far my worst $100+ dinner I’ve experienced.
My meal: Filet Mignon, truffle mashed, seasonal vegetables (asparagus) Wife’s meal: Filet Medallions, mashed, seasonal vegetables, side order of shrimp
We waited just under thirty minutes for our server to even come get an order for drinks. Once our drink order was placed we received them relatively quick. We then waited another ten to fifteen minutes for our server to return and take our order. Not such a big deal on the wait, it was Valentine’s Day so we anticipated a little longer wait than usual but the restaurant really doesn’t appear to have much in the terms of seating and reservations seemed to be spread out enough to limit the staff from being overwhelmed.
After we placed our order it was about a half hour when we received our meals. I have more than a decade in the food service industry but I wouldn’t call myself a “professional.” But, I know what a streak should and shouldn’t look like though. I can say with a more than reasonable amount of confidence, the steak I received was NOT. A filet. I’m 99.9% it was a sirloin. My potatoes were barely room temperature and my steak was ordered medium but came out medium-well to well-done. It was dry, flavorless, and cold as well. I received exactly four pieces of tiny asparagus (I wish I was exaggerating). When I mentioned the status of my meal to my server he apologized and offered a discount, free dessert, and to bring me a new side of potatoes. The truffle mashed had little to no truffle in them. I ordered a second beer to have with my meal and it never showed up.
My wife said her meal was good but not great, especially for the price.
Overall the service was poor to mediocre, the food on my end was horrible (I’ve received better food at Applebees and I wish I was joking), and the prices were inflated. I can say with 100% confidence I will not return. In my opinion, if you call yourself a “chophouse” but can’t put out a simple steak and potato meal, you shouldn’t be. The only saving grace from the night was that my wife was happy...

Updating what was a perfect review of a former visit.
My wife and I have visited The Chop House 3 times. We have visited each time that we've been in town. On a positive note the bartender "Carrie" is a wonderful efficient lady and certainly an asset.
On our first visit everything was perfect. The food was prepared as ordered and the staff was pleasant.
Our second visit our food was not served Hot nor was it Fresh. (Shrimp cocktail was not chilled but actually served warm & fishy smelling)
On our most recent visit All Of Our Food Was Served Cold." Steak, Potato, Asparagus (Even the soup) Unacceptable!
When Carrie asked about whether we were pleased my wife and I expressed our displeasure. She said that there were other complaints of soup not being served Hot. She went to the manager to express our displeasure. His response... He had Carrie take the soup off of our bill. He did not come to speak with us giving the impression that he didn't care to appropriately deal with the issue.
Recapping.... We have been to The Chop House 3 times. We have spent well over $100 each time. Taking soup off of our bill and not speaking with us was Certainly Not a sufficient response.
Please understand that the prices charged are not a problem as long as the Quality of the experience matches. By contrast what we spent Did Not match our experience.
By The Way.. We Never Send Food Back For Correction. In An Establishment Such As This It Is Perfectly Reasonable To Expect Quality In The Initial Serving Of The Food Ordered.
We are Very disappointed/ dissatisfied with how we have been treated.
Really too bad. We planned on visiting often. Apparently Complaints Are Not Welcomed & Viewed As Opportunity For Improvement As They...
Read moreWow! What a first experience! Friends and family have raved about this restaurant - Unfortunately, I'm told the night I tried it was an "off" night ... We went there for a treat ... It ended up as - well ... not a treat. I was prepared for the price (expensive for this area), but was not ready for the LOUD live music - the long wait (drinks sat getting watery on the bar for several minutes - Yes, I could see them sitting there) and then the long wait to order food ... Then being told that they were out of the type of food which was the primary reason for going here AFTER the orders had been in the kitchen for an extended period, so leaving wasn't a viable option. An alternative dinner selection was found - followed by another wait for the food to arrive. My burger was the blandest I can recall being served ( I left about half), as were the truffle fries (again I left about half) - The other food for my family was, I'm told, very good (as a result, the stars for food is more than my burger/fries deserved). They did keep my water glass full. I could go on, but as I'm back home now and my "make-up" dinner is nearly ready, I'll bring this to a close. Fear not for the server - I overtipped as the family that was with me frequents the place - and while I would prefer not to return, they almost certainly will. I would have appreciated an offer of "something" to make up for the night, but alas ... Take aways: Ask prior to ordering if your choice is available. If there's live music decide if you want to speak loudly to converse. Leave a LOT of time for your dining experience. Time to...
