Other guests and I were discussing that the price here is like some in the middle of a city like Boston. It seems a little overpriced considering the area. The rooms were clean and the location is great. The first night our neighbors were very very loud past the time where they were supposed to be quiet. We could hear every word they were saying as if they were staying in their room with us. I called the front desk. They said they would come up and tell them. They also told me if they got a second warning they would have to leave the hotel. I thought this was kind of strange to tell another guest as if pressuring not to say anything. They started being loud at 10:00 p.m.. We listened very closely and nobody came up here to knock on their door or stop them from their noise. I had called the desk at about 15 after 10:00 when it seemed like they weren't going to stop. At 10:40. I decided to knock on the door adjoining our rooms myself. At first they ignored it. But finally I shouted through the door to please be quiet. I didn't like doing that because I felt like it put me at odds with someone next to me and who knows what they are like. I would have preferred if the hotel staff actually did what they were supposed to. When we first signed in, our Wi-Fi did not work. Even though we are Hilton honors members. There was some confusion about how to get us on there without having to be charged. That seems to be worked out with a promo code. When I went to use the workout room it was almost 80° in there according to their own thermometer. That's a little too hot considering you go in there because it's too hot outside. I ran, but it was rather unpleasant because in addition to being warm, there were no fans. I told the girl at the front desk but she was pretty much running the hotel by herself so I felt bad about it. Then, instead of going to my favorite pizza place called Pace's We went to the restaurant adjoining the hotel. Pearl City hops. It was probably the worst experience I ever had in a restaurant. The waitress was really nice and she was doing her best. She was really overwhelmed. Almost looking like she was going to cry and I had to tell her that I wasn't going to eat my salad because it was so disgusting. I ordered a caesar salad with steak because I wanted something healthy. I had told the waitress ahead of time. I'm very picky about salads. Is it fresh? She said she wouldn't bring it out if it wasn't fresh. When I got my steak it was nearly ice cold and it had wilted the entire salad. The entire salad was also way overdressed with dressing so the whole thing was like beans and greens instead of a salad. My daughter also got the exact same dinner. I told her I was just not going to eat it and that I wanted to check. She comped the entire thing. We gave her a very nice tip because it wasn't her fault really as she was really doing her best to run almost the entire restaurant with her and one other person. I just think the food is not that good. I would not go there again. Overall I would definitely come back here but I would not pay this type of price for the hotel. This time. I would try to get a deal. If I couldn't find a deal, I would do an Airbnb or simply stay outside of town...
Read moreWe stayed for a family funeral.. the hotel is nice and updated. However the two bottles of water they leave in your room are 2$ a piece you’d think they’d be complementary.. when we left for the day we asked for extra towels to be left in the room when they came to clean. When we returned around 3:30 pm our beds were not made, the dirty towels had been taken out but no extra towels were left. There are only a few outlets in the room so getting ready with more than one person is difficult.. following our family funeral service we had a banquet dinner for all those that attended, there were not enough tables set up so we asked for two more to be pulled out, we were told it would take 20 minuets.. which was baffling. The banquet staff seemed very annoyed so when the tables were pulled out and silverware and plates were brought out we decided to help set everything up to speed up the process and be helpful (since we were the ones that needed more seating) well that was a mistake! The banquet staff was even more annoyed that we were trying to be helpful.. again baffling. Our table setting attempt was incorrect apparently.. this was made apparent when as we sat there a banquet staff member came and rearranged everything and asked us to move , we said it was no problem we don’t mind but we had to move.. mind you we had just buried a loved one and really just wanted to spend time together telling stories we were not concerned with place settings.. if you’re just staying for the night you’d probably be fine.. if you stay more than one night Bring your own bottles of water.. make sure you let them know you want your beds made when they...
Read moreI had a very enjoyable stay at the Doubletree in Downtown, New York. Upon my arrival I was immediately greeted by the very friendly and professional front desk staff. Check-in was quick and hassle free. My king room was very clean and well attended. The bed was well made and very comfortable, allowing for a very restful night’s sleep. Keep in mind that this is a downtown hotel, and there was a small amount of street noise, mostly from a passing EMS Vehicle and a couple of vehicles with very loud exhausts. Other than that street noise was Not an issue. The Wi-Fi was strong, consistent and worked well throughout my entire stay. When I made my reservation, I opted to include the cost of breakfast which was well worth the additional upcharge. Breakfast was served buffet style and consisted of Eggs, a variety of meet, cereals, fresh fruit, coffee and juice. The food was hot and very tasty. Jamestown is a very walkable city, and this hotel is located right downtown and is just a couple of Block from the Lucille Ball-Desi Arnaz Museum and only about 4 or 5 blocks from the National Comedy Center. You have the option of booking your tickets at a slightly reduced rate to both when making your reservation. I was able to leave my car parked and walk to both. There is a restaurant on site, and I chose to have my evening meal there and just have it billed to my room. The food was well prepared and very good. All an all I enjoyed my stay at the Doubletree in Downtown Jamestown. Every staff member that I encountered were very polite, friendly, and Professional. I will stay here again if I find myself in the...
