After spending an entire night trying unsuccessfully to order a switch 2 bundle online for preorders, I’d decided to spend my day at GameStop to preorder instead. I waited 3 hours in line in the sun and while it was miserable, I eventually have the manager come down the line, tell me yes actually! There are still bundles for preorder! Excitedly I sign up for one as well as a controller and sd card. Fast forward to the release, and I come in to GameStop the next day, having been at work on release day to pick up the pre order I’d already put down money for. I’m told that somebody over-sold and there are no switch 2’s left, bundle or otherwise. My only options now are to take my money back and be out a console and game I already waited forever for and was told was there… or to wait an indefinite amount of weeks/months to hope they get more bundles?? This is not okay GameStop. When preorders are placed, set the product aside for the customer that paid for it. The only way an “oversell” is possible then is if somebody on staff bought it themselves, or willingly sold an already allocated bundle to somebody else. I’ve been waiting ages to play mariokart world and enjoy the new console. Now I’m out my money until HOPEFULLY a GameStop employee calls me in a number of months to say I can come finally get my preordered console after all my friends will be sick...
Read moreWORST EXPERIENCE at this location. GameStop customer service hotline told me to come to the store for a gift card issue. When I went in, the staff member was sitting down with headphones in on their personal phone, and before I could explain in full the reason why I was there, he shook his head and told me “no”. My wife explained further that she had been in a few weeks prior, where a member of staff, possibly store manager, was trying to help her, but bc my account was used and I wasn’t there, they couldn’t help her. The staff today called his store manager from his phone, and said “these people said they talked to you about a gift card” then turned to us and said “no, he said you never talked to him”. When I asked to speak with the manager to explain, staff member said “no, you’re not using my personal phone.”
What kills me is that the staff member was shaking his head and saying no before we could even finish our sentence and not given a chance to explain our situation. I didn’t even want to come down to the store at all, which is why I had used the website first, but I was directed to go to the store by the company’s customer service line.
We got zero help from this store, and...
