Target’s “exchange” process is absolute trash. I received a gift for my baby shower that was the incorrect color. The problem? Target doesn’t advertise there being two different colors, just the one. When purchasing the product, the gift giver didn’t notice the kick & play piano was pink and not green, so they were given a gift receipt for the item.
Today, I went into my Target store and walked to the section “exchanges & return” and asked to exchange the PINK piano for the GREEN piano. The employee told me they didn’t offer exchanges as there was “no button for it.” I asked if I could go back and make sure they had a green one and was told “well you’d have to return it anyway.” So I said okay.
The gift-giver purchased the item with Target’s “perks” for whatever from Target Circle. Because of this, I received a gift card for the amount the individual paid, not the price of the item… if I wanted to purchase the same item again, I’d have to eat the cost of the item, which is absolutely trash in my opinion. Target continuously advertises their perk programs, but fails to mention that if you buy something even with your Target card? The individual wouldn’t be able to exchange it for the same thing, if it were to come impaired in any way, without eating the cost of what I “saved” for the product.
That is incredibly predatory, in my opinion. A majority of people earn “perks” from utilizing the credit card Target has to offer or purchasing products from Target Circle they may not need, but are offered with a free gift card, etc.. knowing that whoever I give a gift to has to eat the difference makes me never want to use Target for gift purchases again, as that is absolutely wrong to both the giver and the receiver.
That, along with the fact an area literally titled “exchanges & returns” doesn’t offer exchanges?????? May as well change the name of it and tell people they’re better off keeping their item if it’s a gift or ANYTHING they got a “perk discount” on, because they won’t be able to get the same product again without paying...
Read moreZero stars actually. When I went into the store there was a weird looking man (in normal clothes) following me and my 13 yr old daughter around the store. I was scared because just a few weeks prior to this there was a man at this same target following young girls and trying to take inappropriate pictures of them. So of course I’m going to be alert. I asked my daughter did she feel like someone was following us and before she could even answer the man started yelling at me saying “im not following you!” And showed me something on his phone. I said sir I’m not talking to you and he proceeded to yell at me. I begged him to leave me alone and he literally yelled at me for 3 minutes straight (while my daughter was standing there). I walked the away and he followed me and got in my face and told me to get out. I went to speak with management and told them about this horrible experience the management told me that they were not able to to pull the tape and if this occurred again to let them know. I immediately left because I was honestly at fear for my daughters and my safety. Considering this man was extremely tall and aggressive. As I was leaving I saw the police pull up and instead of running I decided to talk with them. And of course they took his side. I still don’t know what he told the because he walked away when I begin talking to the police. But I’m sure it was far from the truth. I didn’t get a chance to tell my side. I was immediately arrested and charged with trespassing and banned from target for 5 years. My 13 year old daughter was traumatized. It was like a nightmare. I contacted corporate and I haven’t heard anything else. I have been begging for the cameras to be looked at so that the truth can be shown. This was one of the worst experiences of my life. I have spent sooo much money with this store and to be treated the way I was treated was completely unfair. Side note: the man was a...
Read moreThe fact that there's 3 people standing in the front by the exchange literally doing nothing, I ask for someone to open the fitting room so I can try on 3 pairs of pants.. would have taken 3 minutes. I understand retail workers have to deal with some not so nice people, but the fact that they couldn't stop talking for 3 minutes to open a fitting room door is beyond me. There we're at least 7 people I saw that were "re-stocking" doesnt negate the fact that their fitting rooms were "temporarily" closed until 9 am. For what? Because the person who is supposed to stand there wasn't at work yet? That's insane to me. As a business owner myself my employee absolutely BETTER take those 3 minutes to help a customer, even if it's not their...
