Extremely Disappointed – Deposit Taken, Then Ghosted

I was genuinely excited to work with the artist, @Jendoeofficial, after being referred by a trusted friend. From the start, the communication seemed friendly and professional. I paid a $100 deposit via Zelle to secure my tattoo appointment on my birthday, which we confirmed for 1:00 PM.

Unfortunately, the artist, @Jendoeofficial, canceled the appointment just 30 minutes beforehand due to a reported COVID diagnosis—which I completely understood and responded to with compassion. However, after that cancellation, they stopped replying to my follow-up messages altogether—even though I could see my messages had been read.

I reached out multiple times over the course of weeks to kindly ask about rescheduling or securing my deposit back, especially since I ended up booking with another artist. Despite my respectful tone and multiple polite follow-ups, I received no response and no refund.

I even contacted the shop, @OldTownTatu, the artist @Jendoeofficial, is affiliated with to try to resolve the issue. I had went in to get an old tattoo redone, nothing dramatic, just to go over old lines since the color had faded, after talking to my artist he seemed confident and I trusted him since everything seemed professional. Worst thing I could have done to myself, they didn't even go over all the original lines, which is literally all he had to do... It looks like he stopped half way and on top of that he tried shading the underpart of the tattoo completely misshaping it. This was a tattoo that I loved vey much and now it's ruined and all I can think about is when it'll start fading so I can hopefully get it fixed or overall cover it up...
