Vintage Grind House — Local services in Jefferson Township

If I could give this company a zero I would, they are holding on to a deposit of $2,000 and won't return the money back to me, its been over a month. It possible that this company doesn't even exist and are scamming individuals out of there money from out of state. Don't ever send them a Zelle payment. I sent a Zelle deposit and then we couldn't agree on minor shipping costs to pay the half of delivery at delivery, therefore I asked for them return of the money ASAP. I asked for a refund based on the stores policy of 24 hours that is on the website page of the item. So I have paid a deposit for something that I don't have.

"We offer a one-time courtesy refund on a cancellation that is less than 24 hours from the purchase date"

Yeah that's a complete lie as I cancelled via text within 24 hours which I still have time stamped.

Its been over a month and they still haven't sent the $2,000 back to me. I'm hoping the company will do the right thing, if they don't I'm looking forward to working with the Authorities to have the money returned to me. Its a shame that I'm having to work with the legal authorities and Banks, when they should have done the right thing and just Zelled the money back.

This is in response to the owner's comments below. We are not slandering your business, this is the truth, and your SFAS Business Zelle account is still holding $2k of our money and no product was received. None of what you are saying below is accurate based on my experience with the owners/managers of the business. If you would like to return this money for the table purchased that I never rec'd then I will remove this review.

Found out about Grindhouse through a friend. She shared their photos they take in the warehouse, and decided I would head to Albany Park to check it out. I was pleasantly surprised that they have a large inventory that is much bigger than what they can display online. It's really worth checking out. The prices are affordable for high quality pieces. The friend who I went with kept reiterating how impressed he was with the design and quality of the materials of most of the pieces. It's true, they have one of a kind quality furniture-- Eames chairs, Kagen and Pearsall sofas, Knoll tables, even late 1800s Eastlake armoires and much more. I was a little disappointed in their bed frame selection really not much of one but I'm just being critical everything else more than made up for it. I went home without buying anything because I needed to consult with my roommate. I then purchased a set of 4 Plycraft Blue Velvet upholstered Bent Plywood dining chairs online and went back to pick them up in store. There was a bug in the online system and my payment didn't go through but the owners took care of it right away and even gave me a discount. We got all 4 of the Bent Plywood Plycraft chairs for less than $450 including taxes! I have been searching for these Chairs since we moved in never seeing them for less than $800 bucks for the set !! Everyone on Reddit recommend Vintage Grind House as one of the best antique stores in Chicago, and they didn't steer me wrong! WOW! The selection is absolutely amazing. There's a real artistic curation to the stock, with everything from modern art to pieces from 1800s France. The atmosphere is incredible and you can definitely spend hours here poring over each piece.

On top of this, they are the kindest people ever. I wanted to make "the luckiest day ever" on the day that I proposed to my girlfriend, and they assisted me in hiding some vintage magazines she'd be hunting for inside their store, so she could have them "for free, because they're going to be recycled." They really went out of their way to help me make the day special. The conversations with the staff were so warm and inviting, and we loved hearing about the new location they'll be opening. We can't wait to come back again and...
