Extra Space Storage — Local services in Jefferson Township

My experience with Life storage store 550 on Addison Has always been positive. The space has always been clean and the employees very helpful. Recently My husband and I decided to move storage from a competitor storage Company to Life Storage, Where we already had one unit. Between working with Bob at the call center on a smaller unit I reserved & then Venita Allen-Reid, Manager at #550 Addison store, my experience continues to be very positive. Bob helped me get temporary discount on a unit because a better special was no longer available at #550 store. Before I finalIzed the reservation, a larger unit became available online (what I actually needed) at a good price. I reserved this unit and called the #550 store and worked it all out with Venita. She worked with corporate, sending an email etc. to get that discount transferred for the larger unit. It Was clear that she was very busy But she remained polite and friendly and helpful during our calls. When I went in to finalize everything and Make a change on my current lease agreement, It was delightful to meet her. The store was clean (as is the building housing storage units) And organized and she made sure I had no other requests. Working with a manager like Venita makes the process of having to pay for more storage much less painful. ; )

Fast forward to 2/13/21... Had to rent a third unit and this one came with a deal for that particular month-Free van rental. There were guidelines around the timing and Venita worked with us so we could get a relative to help drive since we do not drive! On the day of moving items, Aaron was So helpful and thorough in checking out the van with us before we used it. He was friendly & professional throughout the whole process. We have dealt with Monica since then as well and Found her so helpful as well. Venita, Monica and Aaron at store 550 make a great team. Such a great facility too! We decided we will rent their van in the future versus going to UHaul etc. and driving over, which will save everyone involved time! Much more convenient. Wow! The Service and warm hospitality I received from Venita was Out of the Blowhole Spectacular. I was shopping around earlier this week and had reservations for 4 different companies to view the facilities in the area, mostly on Kedzie Ave around the corner. It was my second stop for the day and after the tour and meeting with Venita I cancelled the other meetings that day and went with Life Storage. While on the tour after seeing the unit I reserved, I determined that I would need more room and was planning on going with another company because of lack of availability at Life Storage. Venita in formed me about a vacated unit that was 3' larger and became available that afternoon. It was the perfect size, only $2 more per month and $17 cheaper per month than any of the competition in the area. Venita was very warm, professional and knowledgable. Venita also informed me about their FREE Van Rental for move-ins which saves me the equivalent of three months storage. Today when I locked in my contract for the rental I was delighted to speak with Venita again because I was having a rough start and was stressed out for the move. Venita was very down to earth and put me at ease while being patient with me to retrieve my necessary insurance policy numbers I needed for the rental. I wish all my interactions with concierge representatives where this professional and compassionate.

IMPORTANT PLEASE READ!

We all know that moving can be a hassle. It's one of those pains in life we all try to avoid, but in the off chance you have to move into a storage facility I can't recommend life storage enough. I have used this location whenever I needed to move my belongings into storage. And its always top notch but this time it was one of the best experiences ever. And that is all thanks to the lovely Raina who literally went above and beyond to help me find the unit that worked for me. On the website where they have great deals on their units I mistakenly reserved a 10x10 unit thinking itll work. When she walked me to my new storage unit, panic set in when I saw how small it actually was, but she was right there to help fix the situation that I caused. What would have been a million hoops to jump through to fix this wrong Raina handled it professionally and swiftly. She was able to correct my wrong and upgrade me to a larger unit, saving my wife's China cabinet in the process lol. I am so thankful and appreciative of how professional and kind she was to all my needs and she answered all my questions. She was beyond helpful and understanding which is why I recommend this Life Storage location. She is one of a kind and her customer service is out of this world.
