I'll be honest, I was really iffy about this hotel at first upon booking. I've not had the greatest experiences with days inn but due to the price and location I decided why not. So I booked it for my husband, 5 kids and myself. The first thing I loved was the day before arrival they had an option to check in like for the typical paperwork and uploading identification. Plus adding a back up card for incidents. They took only a dollar but quickly sent it back. Perfect for me cause I hate the sometimes slow check in process. Then offered several add ons. Such as early check in and late check out. It did cost extra but maximum was $40 for super early check in at 11 am. We did opt in for that. The check in process was super quick and the front desk was absolutely amazing and they were so helpful as well as kind. We get to our suite, omfg it is HUGE. For our large family I was worried it wouldn't be big enough but it was perfect. A front door and a back door leading to the pools.. yeah 2 pools! And in between was the beach access which was maybe 3 minutes if you have a basketball team of kids 𤣠but for normal people probably a minute at that. They have a small 1 and a half foot tiny round pool that was absolutely perfect for my small 2 year old. The pools stayed a perfect temperature. Not to cold and not hot. The bed were comfy, you'll see a lot of reviews claiming the hotel is outdated. While thats not completely off.. it's not nearly as bad as people make it. Oh and then the hotel texted us asking if we needed anything. Like omg that was awesome. My husband went to ask for extra things, we got that in less than 10 minutes. The breakfast wasn't super fancy but it wasn't that bad. A little condiments and salt spruced it right up. So also there was a living room with a pull out couch. There was a total of 2 ac units which truly helps a lot. So an add on bonus was there was liquid hand soap in the bathroom so nasty sharing of a teeny tiny bar of soap like most hotel, they provided a bottle of dish soap!! They provide 4 beach towels, shampoo, conditioner and body was in the shower but the best thing I loved was they had cookware such as pots, pans, then a strainer, a can opener, Spoons and spatula, a big knife, eating utensils, a chopping board, cup, plates and bowls... even wine glasses too!! There's so much more i may add when I remember but this is a great hotel. The staff were so kind too. Beyond helpful. Now they have a little area behind the desk to purchase items and as to be expected they're a little bit overpriced but that's what you get for convenience lol Now there is a flaw but it's not directly related to the hotel. You have to pay for parking upon entering the island. And you have to pay for every single day you're here. 10 dollars each day. We weren't aware and it was frustrating but it's not a deal breaker for us. Just would of liked to be prepared. There's no exceptions, payment must be given. Either way we will be returning. Already working on our next...
Read moreThankful we only stayed at for one night. When I checked in I was informed that the pool and hot tub were having issues so they werenât heated. Kids pool was closed all together. Ok, it happens. I asked for a room on the second floor (single mom traveling alone) and was informed they didnât have any so instead I received a room all the way at the end of the hotel with a view of the garbage and stairs even though I paid to be on the beach side. The hotel was poorly lit and this room was the last room i would put someone that just told you she was a mom traveling alone with her child. The shower curtain had holes in it but I was still okay until the day we were scheduled to leave. I packed up the car at 8:30/9:00 to take my son to the Sea Turtle center. I left all of our lunch items in the mini refrigerator and on the counter since I knew we were going to be back before 11 (check out time). I did not check out of the hotel at this time!!! When I return back to the hotel at 10:35, I found our room door open with a cleaning woman inside and a man and a black sweatshirt that didnât appear to work there. I ask what they were doing in the room. At first they said because we saw you leaving (okay they were watching us) and then said they were sent to clean the room by the front desk because I checked out. They had thrown out everything in our refrigerator which I was planning on eating for lunch with my son on the beach. In the refrigerator we had cheese, drinks, strawberries, yogurts, soda and bottled water. On the counter, we had crackers and cereal which my son did not have in the morning. I went right down to the front desk and they did nothing but add insult to injury. They asked if I had checked out and that would be the only reason the people were in the room. I informed them that I know how hotels work and I did not check out and I was back in the room at 10:35, well before my 11 oâclock check out time. The first thing they offered was for us to check out later. I donât know how that would helpful since they already stated that everything was out of my room and they âwatchedâ me out my stuff in the car. They radioed down to the person/people cleaning the room but I never got a straight answer as to why they were in there and who told her that the room was ready to be cleaned. She said the front desk told her and the front desk informed her the room was empty. Overall the hotel had a bad vibe as soon as we arrived and I should have followed my gut. Please let my bad experience be a...
Read moreWe requested a Handicap room. The room was nice, spacious & clean. Plenty of towels. Really liked the walk in shower & handheld shower nozzle. Only counter space was right around sink. That was kinda difficult. We used a drawer to put our none cold food item's in. You only have a desk in the room. There is no bedside tables. We also had a king size bed which slept GOOD. A nice small size refrig w/freezer. And a microwave. We wouldn't stay in that particular room again bc it was the second from the office and person's were checking in after midnight and walking by that room as they were excitedly talking, loudly. Also something in the corner of the wall would make a loud dripping noise. We thought it was probably after the room above us had used their bathtub/shower. They person's above us drug their chairs on the floor back & forth every night. They were very loud. They usually got in their room between 10-11pm. Stayed up late and slept in the next morning. They didn't realize how much their sound carried below. And no, we didn't report it. I'm not as sensitive to the sound to keep me from going to sleep but my mama is and it really bothered her. Of course she can hear a knat fart LOL đ LOL đ. We couldn't get anything over on her growing up. But to be truly honest sometimes the loud noises they made, made even me jump out of my sleep. The good thing is that they didn't stay as long as we did and the next people who came in where quite. My parent's always stay at this Inn when they come to Jekyll Island. It is an older Inn but it is a nice Inn. Most of the Front Desk Clerk's are super nice and friendly. Despite that little hiccup mentioned above, we really enjoyed our stay and look forward...
