After making an appointment for my visit and test drive, my daughter and I are strapped in and ready for the journey. Google Maps claims that the trip is about 1 hour and 40 minutes, but we arrived just under 2 hours. Upon entering the dealership, we are immediately greeted. This was a great start and I'm already pumped up to look over the vehicle, get my test drive and start the paperwork ( I'd done my research of this dealership with 4.5 stars on Google, and the Carfax details, so everything looked fantastic). The vehicle was priced at 13,295, was parked and wedged between a cement wall, and 2 cars. This confused me, since I'd made an appointment and confirmed that I was on my way as requested. I also apologized after realizing I'd went to the wrong dealership previously (there's another location called Crazy Cars, where Google Maps has confused the two as having the same address, but located 30 minutes apart on the same 25 MPH street). After arriving, and then a short scavenger hunt locating the keys to the vehicle, the person helping me (not the person I'd made the appointment with) started the car and left. I still cannot test drive the car, which was my whole purpose of arriving here. I ask my daughter to sit in the back of the car where it was warm, being careful not to hit the car beside it with the door since it was indeed wedged in nicely. I then proceeded to look over the vehicle, and noticed that the engine was over filled with oil, after checking it twice. I made a comment to the dealer, who told me that he was not a mechanic, but that all mechanical work was done in house. This was great to know, and expected, but had nothing to do with the fact that a car being sold has been overfilled with oil. He said, that they could just drain the extra oil out (but he just mentioned that he wasn't a mechanic). The person (sorry I don't remember his name, but the gentleman was sitting at the desk you see as soon as you walk into the door, maybe Zack??) then asks if I was here to purchase the vehicle. I said, yes and that was my entire purpose of being here to look at the specific car and making the appointment. He then says, "well, just so that you know, there will be an extra $4000, to $5000 dollars added on to the purchase price of the vehicle to include title, tax and fees". I was dumbfounded. You mean to tell me you tack on an extra 40% to the purchase price of the vehicle??? Their slogan on the dealership does say "Crazy Cash 4 Cars", so I guess it's not false advertising.
I'm not sure if he thought I was a fool, or had just came in from the boat, but after patiently waiting 15 minutes in the waiting area to discuss the price in detail after he said, "but there may be some wiggle room," my daughter and I casually left the establishment with smiles on our face.
This was a great lesson, and I very much appreciate any and all learning opportunities. No one has time to play games, especially with shady dealership practices, so if they are a short drive away, there no skin off your back. However, If I am driving upwards of 2 hours to your establishment, be rest assured I am preapproved, and ready to do business. But perhaps traveling so far for a supposed deal on a car is a collective waste of time and energy. This is my lesson. Thank you Crazy Cash 4...
Read moreI purchased my vehicle along with a warranty from Crazy Cars on June 1, 2019. Initially the staff was incredibly friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable.
One week after driving the car off the lot, my fuel gauge stopped working. I couldn't tell how much gas was in my tank. This wasn't a cosmetic issue. It was a safety issue.
After a few attempts I was finally able to reach someone from the dealership and they asked me to come in with the car. I live in the Bronx, so I had to take off work to take care of this issue.
When I arrived, I spoke with Anthony who took my car to the mechanic. He promptly returned and told me I had to replace the entire fuel pump. It would cost me about $260.00. Just one week after purchasing the vehicle. Admittedly, they were kind enough to cover half the cost of the part, or so they say. I never was showed an invoice for the price of the part, so I can't confirm whether or not that's true.
He ordered the part and told me to come back, I believe on a Thursday.
On that Thursday, I took yet another day off of work and called beforehand to confirm I was on my way. When I arrive to the dealership I waited almost 40 minutes before Anthony arrived again. He starts fiddling around inside the car, and I go over to him which is when he tells me he's so sorry but the mechanic didn't show up, that I would have to come back.
I was very furious at this point, honestly. But I decided not to show it.
Today, July 22, 2019, at 8:30am, less than 2 months after purchasing the vehicle, it had to be towed. The vehicle wouldn't start. While waiting in the heat for the tow truck, I called the number listed online for the dealership and explained the situation. The gentleman who answered said he had no authority and would pass the message on to the owner. Over two hours later there was still no response.
I finally called them again at around 1:00pm where I was told they weren't liable for any of the issues with the vehicle. The warranty I had purchased covered none of the repairs, and even though it CLEARLY states in my warranty that in the event the vehicle needed to be towed (which it did) that the warranty would cover up to $50.00 for the tow, They wouldn't even pay that.
I would not recommend them to anyone honestly. I am coming out of pocket at least twice now, only a few weeks after buying this car, just to make it turn on.
Their customer service needs a lot of work. If I could give zero...
Read moreI HONESTLY cannot describe these amazing guys !! I went to see one of their many beautiful vehicles and was greeted with nothing but smiles ! The gentleman handed me the keys to the SUV I came to look at told me to go check it out and to take my time. Never came over to haggle me just let me do my thing for about a 1/2 hour checking out every aspect of the vehicle. I actually only went there based on their amazing reviews. As a nervous consumer who is just semi experienced in buying a vehicle they assured all of my concerns. Genuinely genuinely humble and helpful explained to me the financing process and my trade-in which they were willing to give me a very good deal with because after checking out Carmax and Carvana Muhammad actually offered me a couple of thousand dollars more for my vehicle than Carmax and Carvana did. The cars seem to all be in excellent condition and unless I move far away these will be my go to guys for my next vehicle I truly can’t thank you enough for all the time you spent in helping me with a vehicle making me feel comfortable and just providing an overall great experience. I know this is a long review but it was well worth it and I really hope everyone takes the time to read it. Again I went there based on their enormous amount of great reviews on Google. Such good guys ! You won’t know until you actually go there and see for...
