Great shop for custom frames, but Nelson Fine Art and Frames recently helped me replace the glass in several broken windows, and saved me a considerable amount of money. I have a 100 year old house with old-school triple track storm windows, some of which were missing their glass panels or the glass had broken. I called three local window companies about replacing the glass, and they all gave me similar quotes. At a friend's suggestion I also called Nelson Fine Art, and within an hour I was at the shop having new panes custom cut. Measuring, cutting, and reinstalling the glass panes took less than 20 minutes and it cost me 10% of what the local window companies were going to charge. So while they're known for their great framing, they also apply their excellent customer service, meticulous approach, and beyond-fair pricing to other jobs as well....

I love getting art framed here! It's so neat to walk in to the "artists workshop" and get a feel for the process....rather than walking up to a counter at some big shop and they send it off for the job. They are so "hands on" at Nelsons and they take so much pride in what they do. It shows. They always work with my budget and I usually just give them a few colors I like and let them have some creative freedom from there. You can be as involved in the selection as you prefer. I don't even consider any other place for framing. Not only are they great at their craft but they are loyal to this town, to downtown, and have really hung in there...
