Originally created to help defeat the flooding of Johnson Cities Downtown area, engineers and architects and all others involved in this huge project have gone far above their calling. I live in Kingsport and I have taken my dogs there 3 times already since one day I finally had time to check it out. I was impressed and amazed at what I was seeing. Beautifully landscaped and large open area for my dogs to play off their leash (if your dog does not listen or strays away I would suggest leashing it, also I'm pretty sure there is a leash ordinance but, you know if you have a dog that will stay near you or not.

They also have various art pieces on display all throughout the park and they are for sale. Some have been bought and donated to the park and when you see a piece that was purchased and donated, you will see that it would be hard to find a better place for that particular piece

Founders park holds many concerts and events throughout the year. Love, love, LOVE this place. OH also you can check the water level from a guage next to the bridge and it has a website you can go to and enter the current levels. Fun way to gather information while making it fun for the visitors. Highly...

Decided to take my girlfriend and her kids to the park here at Founders Park. It was very very beautiful and well landscaped. And many of pretty statues and art pictures with descriptions of materials used to make plus the artist name and where they come from. The beautiful walter running with the built in big creek they have installed makes for a lovely walk with the family and everyone had a lot of fun and it appears the visitor's felt the same. So much so my girlfriends son found a lost easter egg with a $25 Scratch Pizza discard with fake tattoos as well. Whether you're taking a partner trying to impress or just trying to take the kids for a good time or just go for a walk on your lonesome to enjoy the outdoors. This is a great place to take a good walk!

Not to mention all of the beautiful spots you'll be able to see all of our beautiful landmarks across downtown. I'm pretty sure they built it the design they built it just so you can get a glimpse of all of the major landmarks in downtown with a clearview.

I'll be posting some good pic's in just a few.

Love this little park, it has a little creek running through it, not enough for my dog to swim but enough for her to wade in it and get cooled off. There are concerts on Fridays in the summer and a Farmer's Market on Wed and Sat at the Pavillion, near the railroad tracks so that is really loud when they go by but I really like this park. They opened up the tree lined walk area so you get a little shade but not so much bushes where people used to take naps during the day. Police are sometimes in the parking lots as it's near downtown which they are trying to revitalize.

Nearby you can go to White Duck Taco, my favorite place for tacos, connected to Yee Haw - if you bring your dog to the park you can sit outside at White Duck with your pup.

Parking for Founders Park is along the park and across and in the pavillion area. I feel safe when I walk there during the day, but I probably wouldn't go in the evening.

All in all - our favorite quick walking park and reflection area...

I really like this park, it is very serene, it's a full circle path, in the summer it has art sculptures you can admire and christmas it's decorated very nicely with tons of different christmas trees from local businesse owners. What I love the best is the small creek that runs around it. It's just so calming and soothing. Listening to the sound of the water is just perfect. You walk around or bring a book sit in one of the benches, grass, or one of the stones edge by the creek. It's perfect to go have a bite to eat at one of the local restaurants and then take a stroll. It's great for a date night walk or a picnic. It's just lovely.

Johnson City , Tennessee is one of the best cities to ever exist ! There is so much love , helpfulness , and friendliness from the residents that you are never going too want too leave. Johnson City is a normal , safe , fun city that is made of only physical locations and that only has residents that are only from the normal modern day species named human-beings ! I have lived in this city ever since I was a kid. Johnson City , Tennessee hasn’t changed one bit from the year 2003 A.D. I pray that God continues to bless Johnson City residents , the city itself , and the future of the world !
