Let me start by saying our waiter was wonderful. The atmosphere was ok but then again it was early in the day. The food is where my review is here. The sides were absolutely delicious however, the meats... We ordered 2 of the Tennessee Trinity plates and in both we ordered ribs. Two things, it looks like on both platters we were given the end of the rack as the ribs were absolutely puny. About 2 inches in bone. They were also burned to a char and very very hard. I know baby back ribs are small but I also know if you get the middle of the rack they are more meaty and tender. It felt like the kitchen served us a leftover of the rack. The rest of the meats were ok, they weren't that tender and very dry. The pulled pork was also burnt and it looked like they served us the scraps left over on the grill plate. The pork belly we thought would be crispy but it wasn't and although fatty this was the one meat that was juicy. The sausage was not good, dry and small. The brisket was "ok". Overall for the food we probably won't be driving 2 hours again. Maybe we just happen to arrive when they were getting rid of left over meats? Not sure but we didn't complain. We are a family who migrated to the USA in the 60's and had kids and we know what it's like to not have food so we would never send food back. However, if this isn't the norm of the food then we just got unlucky. We did meet some beautiful people on the table next to us and became friends and we keep in touch. I just wish the meats were all the hype I had read and seen on the pictures and reviews. But it the meats fell very...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI had high hopes that I'd be giving a 5 star review, but I honestly feel 3 stars is pushing it. I think the decor and vibe of the building is influencing the extra star.
We've had amazing food from Label, and we were told this is a sister branch of Label, but the flavors were not even close to comparable :/ We were told the burnt ends were one of the best items on the menu, and that they come out tasting smoky. The meat was good, but the flavor profile simply wasn't there. The nachos were a total let down, with all the cheese on the bottom, and unimpressive, skimpy toppings. I would recommend removing it from the menu, or completely revamping the recipe.
Our server, April, was super nice, but she wasn't very attentive once we placed our order, aside from bringing a side of cheese when I couldn't find any on top of the chips, which I appreciated. They were only on a five minute wait though. Worst of all was not asking us how our food was, which is one of the most important aspects of good service. We didn't complain, but eating our food just so we didn't have to go home hungry doesn't equate to an experience we'd come back for. My husband's dry rub wings were partially satisfying, but half of the wings were dry, and overall they could use a little more seasoning- the ranch dressing they were served with was watery and not tasty.
Sadly, we cannot recommend this place. Label, yes, if they are as good as they used to be. We could have gone to The Main Street Pizza Company and had...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFirst time today visiting Southern craft barbecue in Johnson City Tennessee and man what a wonderful experience. Ron our server did an outstanding job. Iām an excavating contractor but Iām also a farmer and I raise our own organic heritage pork and have made BBQ most of my life for me and my family as a hobby and let me tell you something these folks know BBQ for sure. I had the Trinity which had brisket and smoked ribs and sausage and the food was absolutely incredible. Everyone was pleased with their meal. we had the appetizer of candied bacon with jalapeƱos and it was out of this world good! Lots of food for the money !! to say this place is amazing would be an understatement. The manager phil was also super nice guy extremely professional extremely attentive came over and introduced himself and we introduced ourselves. As far as weāre concerned this is the best barbecue that we have ever had hands-down in Tennessee and we will certainly be back often and recommend them to everyone.. I do not know The owner to this place but they have to be wonderful people because we love history and they have definitely turned around a historic District in Johnson City Tennessee utilizing old buildings and bringing in real wood timbers and constructing a wonderful restaurant out of that.. We absolutely love this place keep up the good...
