Woods Lake Park — Attraction in Kalamazoo

Great park! Nice clean swimming area, well kept park and playground. Clean restrooms with covered picnic/grill area and Beautifully decorated landscape with natural features. Great place for family or fishermen...and women, Or even just watching the sunset. There's also a small little fishing trail that goes to several off-site locations along the beach for privacy or peace of mind, and mushroom hunting of course. Also a family of swans lives here on the lake! And last but not least...woods late has a Really cool and slightly kreepy history that few people know about. Ill let you look into it on your own but to give you the gist, it was once a Coney Island that somehow ended up with sunken carnival equipment after being shut down. Scandal? Who knows go read the story lol. Now there's a diver who dives there every so often and if you frequent the lake in coming summers you might be lucky enough to spot him. I have! ❤ needless to say its a really fun awesome spot to cool down with the fam on a hot...

Location. Location. Location. This is not South Haven but it's very close to my home. And it's a pleasant place to take a quick dip if you are not adverse to a few ducks and weeds. One does have to navigate a steep set of stairs although there is now another way to get in if you are disabled. I love this place because of the convenience and the fact that the patrons are easy going and create a pleasant mood. It's a great place for children. See above photo of little playground. Thus, if you don't want children around this probably isn't your place except for early weekday mornings. There's ample parking, bathrooms and right across the street! You have Water Street coffee shop where you can enjoy an outdoor beverage, a Subway sandwich shop and SawalIs health food store Not for everyone but just...

Apparently people dont follow the rules.. last week i went and there was a tone of cars parked down in handicap parking with no stickers and numerous cars parked down there on the grass.. today there was two different couples who came down with their dogs on the beach, which clearly states no dogs on beach... looks like maybe someone should be coming down there to enforce the rules.. other then...
