Carne Diem Fine Meats & Pantry — Attraction in Kansas City

DOES NOT RESPECT THEIR CUSTOMERS - They had a class for "knife skills" which my Mother In Law was kind enough to get me in for as a gift but, Carne Diem cancelled the classes and refused to refund the money to us, they said they would instead send us a giftcard equal to the amount paid for the classes, which we initially said no to, but had to settle as Carne Diem would not honor our request (even though its our money they're holding hostage.) Anyways, its been weeks now and we still have not received any gift cards. This company has abhorrent business practices and does NOT respect their customers, they stole from us and refused to make up for their cancellation of a service. Was excited to go in and grab some steaks to make for the chiefs game but was very disappointed at the selection. There were several t-bones, bison ribeyes, and strips available but the prices were absurd. Additionally, the premade meals and cooler items were also exorbitant. I get it. It’s a specialty shop and they’re not Price Chopper, but at least have more reasonable options when it comes to the meat selection. I’m definitely willing to pay more for a very good cut of meat but wow. I really hope they do well but unfortunately with this economy most people are going to walk in, see the prices and head...

We purchased three sausages on our first visit- and all were INCREDIBLE! The pork/mushroom/pistachio was delicious and you could really pick out each different flavor. The bacon cheeseburger had wonderful amounts of both bacon and cheese and really gave the feel of a cheeseburger. And the lamb/orange sausage was such a treat! We also tried some sushi from the grab and go area and it was perfect. Green apple and shrimp was such a fun combo. Highly recommend this place for both grocery shopping AND ready to eat food! Not to mention the folks who own it and work there are...
