Updated: Unfortunately, I've never heard from the spa to discuss my results.
Briarcliff Location I wish I could leave a higher/better review, but I want to be honest so others don’t waste their money like I did. Prior to beginning any laser hair removal treatment I went in for a consultation and was told I was an ideal candidate (dark, course hair with light/medium complexion) and it takes an average of 8 treatment sessions done 6 weeks apart to achieve complete hair removal. I paid for my first treatments out of pocket ($208 with a new client coupon) as a trial run to make sure I could handle the laser. I did fine, so I signed a contract to pay $199/month for 12 months. This would get me 50 points to use towards hair removal treatments for the underarms and full private. My first few treatments went fine- as far as I knew. When the 5th treatment was approaching I contacted the spa to let them know I was concerned, because I was halfway through my treatments and I still had a ton of hair growth. They asked me to come in and let them take a look, which I did. They agreed I was not as far along as they typically see. Because of this the manager (at that time) performed my next treatment. There was a drastic difference in the treatment the manager performed vs what the tech had been doing. My first several treatments took less than 20 minutes- that included undressing/dressing and laser to my underarms and privates. The appointment with the manager took over an hour and a half! Needless to say, I saw a difference after the session with the manager in my hair growth. Unfortunately, when I returned for the remaining sessions they were just as short as they were in the beginning and I was told by the tech that was “standard.” When my 12 months was up and my points had been used I was very unhappy with my results. I still had a ton of hair growth in both locations and had completed 9 sessions (because I paid out of pocket for the first one + the sessions the $199/month bought me). I was shocked, because I was informed I was the “ideal candidate” and to expect complete hair removal based on that. The only reason I am even giving this place any stars is because due to my frustrations with the lack of results they agreed to do more treatments at no-charge. When all of my sessions were done I had completed 17 laser hair removal sessions on both the underarms and privates. SADLY, I STILL HAVE 40% HAIR GROWTH IN BOTH LOCATIONS! I STILL HAVE TO SHAVE ON A WEEKLY BASIS- WHICH DEFEATS THE WHOLE PURPOSE OF GETTING THE TREATMENTS! -I made my appointments exactly 6 weeks apart as recommended and never missed a session -I did not expose those areas to the sun -I did not use self-tanner or use tanning beds As instructed, I shaved completely the day of every single laser treatment How is it that you tell clients they only need 8 treatments to achieve results, when I got 17 and still have enough hair growth it requires me to shave weekly? It just doesn’t make any sense. I am so frustrated and angry that I wasted $2,596. That is a large amount of money I wish I wouldn’t have spent if I knew the end results. I brought up my concerns on several occasions because of the amount of money I was spending and I was assured they would make it right- but let’s be honest- at that point they had my money and they knew that. I was tired of going back and forth with them questioning why the treatments weren’t working, so I eventually gave up. It was clear nothing was going to be accomplished. Moral of the story, save your money and spend it elsewhere to get laser hair removal. You will leave this spa broke and still have to shave on a weekly basis. Really wish I had that $2,596 in my bank account instead...
Read moreWow, people check this out!! Ok so I was on my second year of membership, paying $199 per month the first year and then $152 per month the second year. During the second year I was diagnosed with breast cancer. So I went up there and said I was just diagnosed with breast cancer and I can't come anymore. They said oh we're so sorry, here sign here and your membership will be cancelled. That evening I received an email confirmation that my membership has been cancelled and my auto-draft has been deactivated. Then randomly, 2 weeks later, I received an email stating my membership has been reactivated. I called that day and was told "oh we need a doctors note." Ok fine, so I gave them one the next day. Then I received another email stating my membership has been cancelled again. A couple weeks later I received my credit card statement and realized they snuck in an additional $152 charge on that day I received the email saying my membership had been reactivated. I called up there again (keep in mind I have cancer and I'm going through radiation treatments every day.) They said there was nothing they could do and they refused to refund that $152. Seriously?? They should have told me they needed the doctors note when I went up there to cancel in the first place. But no, instead they waited 2 weeks to tell me that and charged my card again. I then filled out a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. They would rather have an "unresolved" complaint with the BBB than refund me $152. They are a business that values $152 more than a client who went through cancer that has paid them over $3k in membership fees. What kind of business is that? So I have told everyone I know NOT to ever go here. See if that...
Read moreIf I could give it 0 stars I would have! I took my daughter for Lazer treatment on her face was guaranteed at least an 80% impeovement . I saw no improvement at all after finishing all her sessions, now their excuse is it's beliss hair and my daughter's teenage hoemones. Why was this not stated in the beginning? I asked for a refund they said we don't give refunds, I said then more sessions they said we gave her extra sessions and that's all we can do. I asked to talk to a higher person and I'm still waiting on that person to call me after 3 months basically they stole our money $100 some dollars a month for a whole year just flushed down the toilet not to mention the costs of our time and travel. And my child had to shave her face for those sessions so my daughter's facial hair grows sharp which made the problem worse. So...
