Centennial Bridge — Attraction in Kansas

I've been going over this bridge, often several times a day for past past 40 years. It was built in 1955 and is surely showing its age as the experts classify it as obsolete. "Studies" have been conducted since 2014 or so, but I guess these things take some hand wringing and time to come up with a "plan". I marveled at the efficiency of the Atchison, KS bridge replacement as the new bridge was built next to the old bridge and when finished, replaced it!! Fed/State officials, time to get moving on a much studied project in Leavenworth... Maybe a little taxpayer money presently being wasted in such as Afghanistan can be diverted here for a needed infrastructure project? Rob Kornacki, US...

The bridge is a Leavenworth landmark... the "big blue bridge". On the Kansas side, you can go under the bridge to get to the campground on the North sidenof the bridge, and there is a boat ramp also. There is also the riverfront...
