I contacted Mr Brian Sveniker Shay and inquire about an Anchor and Hawaiian flag tattoo Mr Brian Sveniker Shay gave me an estimated price of $600 ($700.00 max) for a tattoo designed by him.
Well, itâs a tattoo. Once the project started you have to continue the process. He wasnât able to estimate the price properly neither the time and yet the artwork itself presented by him (well you can see with your own eyes) after 6 hours in his studio. Thatâs whatâs it looks like.
Yes Iâve paid $700.00 plus tip then I have to pay again for another 2 hours (because it was very unfinished) ... over $1000.00 Artwork is very inconsistent from the beginning to the âendâ yet unfinished to this day. He has to hold himself accountable for his work. As you can see he has just not reviews AT ALL.
PS: The Hawaiian flag tattoo consists of (8 stripes) in any Hawaiian flag. Representing the 8 islands. He managed to give me 11 stripes. Thatâs right! Why not add extra stripes in a blank space? The flag is itself wavy and the stripes are straight making it very uneven. Showing careless for the costumers and the tattoo itself.
I was also left with a bruise on my upper shoulder as seeing in the last picture. I never gave permission and he never gave me an assessment about the fact the upper shoulder would have to have a darker tone so the white strip from the flag could be seeing as shown in the picture.
As far Iâve heard and I have met as well 3 other people that have gotten their tattoes completely messed up and also poorly delivered by Brian Sveniker Shay.
I contacted him in attempt to collect part of my money back, because I work hard for it. He said the policy is no refunds. I told him all the facts including showing the tattoo delivered by him had beyond uneven lines in the Anchor. (Couldnât deliver straight lines either). He refused to give me partially the money back and offering me a âfree sessionâ
The âfree sessionâ or a âpaid sessionâ consists of Mr Brian sveniker shay answering the door and talking with clients, taking walk ins and seeing pictures (doing business during a well paid session, all this during a procedure being performed) thatâs right; while he is tattooing clients. Sometimes even stoping the tattoo and wait for a $60.00 cash deposit to come back. He claims that the $60.00 dollars cash is to secure the booking with him. He doesnât have a wait list. To secure what?! In my second session. He took off his gloves and waited for a possible guy to come back and pay the deposit. Luckily the guy never came back. I wouldnât go back not even for free.
He also does lots of âBlockingâ, yes thatâs right blocking other tattoo artists of interacting with possible costumers. He blocks even his own cousin from interacting with possible clients. Mahalo for the experience!. If wasnât Jon in there he probably wouldnât have anybody coming to the shop. He havenât had a review in over a year and thatâs a fact.
His cousin (Jon) tattoo artist at Blue Wave Tattoe has actually a consistent artwork and have actually had really good art designed in peopleâs bodies. heâs a qualified as far tattooing people. Iâve found out afterwards. It was just a little bit too late.
Lots of artwork tattoes posted in his personal Facebook account Brian sveniker shay are actually work from other artists visiting the studio (guests artists) sometimes he doesnât even mention them (the artists names) and those masterpieces are NOT his work. Be advised. Giving the unattended public the illusion that he can deliver those masterpieces or complexes detailed tattoes. He CANNOT, itâs a...
Read moreJon, I wish I could give you zero stars to reflect the zero effort you put into our appointment. My sister and I booked a six oâclock appointment on my last day on the island. At about 2:30 that same day, Jon asked if we could do 7 instead. Okay, no big deal. Then at about 6:40 he asked if we could change it to 7:30 or 8:00. We were already on our way as it was a 45 minute drive. We got there at 7 as planned and he showed up about 15 minutes later, complaining about how he had to leave Star Wars early. We were pretty shocked by this, as he made the appointment and even rescheduled us. Once in the shop, he starts playing the Star Wars theme music and making passive aggressive comments about having to leave 20 minutes before his movie ended to meet us, which was very uncomfortable. He quoted us $100 on the phone for small, simple line work (I wanted coordinates in small text and my sister wanted a simple outline). When we got there, he said it would be about $160 each instead. I asked him to make my text a little smaller and he gets pissed, then goes to draw up his âartâ my sisters outline was mismatched and sloppy, and my numbers were different sizes and very different from the text I wanted. At this point it became very obvious that Jon was not sober and was unable to draw a straight line. He asks me to come back in the chair and Iâm staring at this awful rough draft when I realize he has no intentions of cleaning up the sloppy lines or even tracing it on my skin before he begins. This would have been my fourth tattoo and my sisters fifth, so we know how this process should work. I asked him to clean up the lines and he got pissed and went off about how he left his movie early for us, mondays are appointment only and that he regretted making our appointment, because clearly heâd rather be getting (drunk?stoned?) and watching Star Wars. He says heâs âdoing his bestâ then he says this sloppy drawing âwill look better once itâs on my skin.â I RAN from his chair. This was more than disappointing, as it was my last day in Hawaii and this was my souvenir from the islands. If you canât draw a straight line on paper and show up to work sober, donât waste my time and make an appointment. TL;DR Jon showed up late and intoxicated after trying to reschedule twice, said he regretted making our appointment and was very aggressive with us. DO NOT HAVE WORK DONE HERE. The attached photos are what I wanted vs. his âartâ and his second attempt to reschedule via unprofessional texts. UGH Jon,...
Read moreI would highly recommend taking your business elsewhere. Told me one price on the phone and said he can get going in an hour from that time so I spent the money to get a taxi to the shop. I show up about 45 minutes after calling and reestablish pricing which he suddenly raised $100 from the price given over the phone. He got aggressive with his words and demeanor when we asked for him to make the outline sketch a bit smaller. He took about an hour dealing with his own personal ordeals before starting with us but It seems as though he had been counting that time towards the session time I was paying for. I Was charged 100+ for a half inch tattoo that took 4 minutes to complete. I had to pay another $50 once back home to get the tattoo fixed since the lines were uneven and in one area failed to impact any ink leaving the lettering disconnected. He had several other idle friends around just watching. Owner also expected a tip when I Didnât have small enough bills to break even for his extremely over priced work, which I understand a tip is common practice to give in this work, but should be based on the work given and not just expected especially as owner of the shop.
Overall the experience was awkward and unprofessional and I would suggest making the 20 minute drive to the next...
