Lovely view of Fox River, and nice spot for bands to perform. Children enjoyed that lower path was under water so played in water with their dogs. Not sure if Fox River is potable water... so might not be wise to have kids playing in it... also swift current and no lifeguards. Seems lacking public restrooms are an issue- basics like as a freeway rest stop should be added. A bit chaotic for visitors as several areas under construction are not well marked (no signage) and are cordoned off in sort of a random way... Maybe the storms / high water levels resulted in the makeshift barriers?

Nice looking and well kept park near downtown Yorkville Illinois. I wanted to fish here, but there are no fishing in the channel signs everywhere. The island is also closed for repairs. You can kayak the channel. There is a lot of fun looking whitewater. Several places to eat and drink nearby. Would have got more stars, but lack of good fishing and no access to the island is hindering the awesome location.

It is a small park, but it is good to walk around and sit around if it's not too cold. There there are never too many people here. There is a part where you can cross a bridge and I like it because if there is no body there, specially in Winter, I can let my pup run free in that little island. It is beauitful seeing all the ice in the river. The water is not so clean but it doesn't smell bad.

Don't let the industrial look of the area fool you... This place is amazing. There's so much to do with your family. You can have a tasty brunch at the ginger and soul cafe, or visit South Bank(SOB) for some drinks and BBQ while listening to live music. Maybe grab some ice cream at Foxys while you take a break from tubing or kayaking. There are also picnic areas to relax and enjoy lunch. The little ones can burn off some energy at the playgrounds. If you visit during the many festivals, you're guaranteed a great family outing. Or just slow the pace with some peaceful fishing or take in the beautiful scenery with a stroll along the river. Bicentennial riverfront is a must do when visiting...

The riverfront here is pretty cool. It has a little bit of everything:

It's photogenic, there's a park perfect for kids, a spot where you can go rafting, a place to practice your kayaking skills, a place to fish, a pedestrian bridge, a cool dam, a BBQ joint, a brunch cafe, an ice cream shop, several local restaurants, and a covered pavilion that is perfect for picnics and doubles as a spot for live music.

This location often hosts Yorkville's Christmas parade, tree lighting and fireworks (yes, fireworks), BBQ competitions, and other kid friendly events.

I think as the area develops, this area will grow to be VERY popular. It's worth...
