I had an incredible experience diving with Blue Water Divers in Key Largo, Florida, and I can’t recommend them highly enough! My son and I recently completed dives with them, including his Advanced Open Water Diver certification, and the professionalism, knowledge, and enthusiasm of the team made it unforgettable. Captain Pascal and our dive guide, Instructor Dwayne (Duane), were exceptional. Pascal’s expertise and calm leadership set the tone for a seamless and enjoyable trip. Dwayne, who guided us through the Spiegel Grove and Duane wrecks, was phenomenal. His deep knowledge of the dive sites and marine life, paired with his passion for diving, made every moment engaging and educational. He ensured my son’s certification process was thorough, safe, and fun, giving him the confidence to excel as a newly certified advanced diver. Dwayne’s ability to create a supportive environment was especially appreciated—my son felt secure and excited throughout the training, and I could see his skills grow with each dive. The Spiegel Grove wreck was a highlight, with its massive structure and intricate corridors teeming with marine life. Dwayne expertly guided us through the site, pointing out hidden details and ensuring we navigated safely. The Duane wreck was equally thrilling, offering a mix of history and vibrant underwater ecosystems. Dwayne’s route through the Duane was perfectly planned, making it an exhilarating experience for both my son and me, especially as it was one of his first wreck dives as part of his certification. The entire Blue Water Divers team demonstrated top-notch professionalism while keeping the atmosphere light and enjoyable. Their small group approach made it feel like a private tour, allowing for personalized attention and a focus on safety. Dwayne’s knack for storytelling and his contagious enthusiasm added an extra layer of fun to the dives. From start to finish, they prioritized a safe, welcoming environment, ensuring we felt comfortable and confident underwater. If you’re looking for a dive shop that combines expertise, safety, and pure enjoyment, Blue Water Divers is the way to go. Special thanks to Pascal and Dwayne for making our Spiegel Grove and Duane wreck dives, and my son’s Advanced Open Water certification, an experience we’ll never forget! We’re already looking forward to our next...
Read moreHaving decided to spend some time away from the snow and get our Open Water Certification, we settled on Key Largo. As I started my search for dive instruction, I quickly became overwhelmed. I am certain there are more dive shops in the Keys than there are fast food restaurants. When I came across Bluewater Divers I was favorably impressed by the website. After I read the reviews, I became more convinced we were heading in the correct direction. The coordination with the on-line PADI course work was seamless. When we arrived, I felt well prepared for our pool training and we met our instructor, Andrew, for the first time. Before we knew it, it was time for our first dive. Here mother nature was not friendly at all. The sea was a rolling and by the time we reached our first dive site, my wife was not doing well. She made it into the water, but the waves and nausea got the best of her. I had read some reviews where family's felt belittled by the crew (another company) when they got sea sick. Capt Robert was like an encouraging brother and my wife, rather than feeling deflated, was looking forward to making a second attempt the next day. The next day the seas were calm and she made it like a champ through her first two dives. Without the special attention and encouragement of our instructor and captain, this easily could have been a vacation nightmare. Instead the world now has two more PADI certified open water divers. I do feel that the logo on their t-shirts sums it up best: "Diving how it was meant to be!" I know when the time comes for us to pursue our Advanced Open Water Certification, there is one decision that we will be a no-brainer; come back to...
Read moreMy partner and I decided to escape from grey northern winters to the sunny skies and diving in Florida, and we wanted to keep things low key and small- driving down, renting a house and bringing/cooking our own food. When it came to diving, we knew we wanted to keep it small as well, but get some great, big dives in, and Blue Water Divers didn’t disappoint.
We went for 3 days in a row on morning dives. The first day, it was just us and Captain Robert, the second day it was two other couples and Robert and Andrew, the co-owner and deckhand/diver for the trip, and the third day it was just us, another couple (Hi Lu and Paul!) and Andrew and Robert. The boat had plenty of space, perfect for the side mount tanks that we brought and got filled there, and the ride out was beautiful!
We went to some great locations for two deep dives- the Duane and the Spiegel Grove, and then hit a few shallower wrecks and reefs, all with some great to good visibility and almost NO other divers around. Andrew has some great stories from diving and teaching all over the world (he also is skilled at underwater photography, and grabbed a nice pic of my partner and I!) and both Robert and Andrew are sure to tip you off on what spots on each wreck and reef to check out. Our highlights were the Duane, for its massive structure and unending possibility for exploring, and the Spiegel Grove, which flourished with every kind of fish in the hundreds, along with some sea turtles and tons of coral. If you want a small and great guide company, book now- these guys were relaxed and fun, but completely professional and ready to help in every way. We’ll definitely be back, and hopefully...
