I live in eastern Washington state and am not the best target consumer for them but I consider them absolutely top notch. I am plant obsessed so willing to add grow lights and such in my living room and thanks to Logee's, I am growing grafted mangoes, jeweled (sparkling) orchids and other wonders in my home. I'm even enjoying some really tall cyperus papyrus (like the ancient Egyptians had all over the Nile delta) in some pots on my deck. I'll need to grow these as annuals where I live.
They also have a few neat options for cold zones like my own (4-5).
I have ordered from them for years now and have ALWAYS been happy with the plant I received AND how they protected it during shipping. They also give need to know tidbits in their plant descriptions. IE: if the plant needs another cultivar to produce fruit, if you should wait to let a plant produce fruit because the stalk may be too young/weak for a few years, etc. Upfront and honest.
A few times, I have needed to interact with them (such as this year where I clicked a wrong button/plant in my online order and needed to correct the situation) and they have always been prompt and helpful.
I have dealt with many companies that ship plants over my 3 decades of plant-love and I ONLY have great things to say...
Read moreI've been coming here for years with my mother and have bought numerous plants from them over this time. This place is a gem. The quality and selection of plants cannot be beat in my mind. Yes, you will pay more here for plants than at Home Depot, but for good reason. The price is a result of the work they put in to find and develop rare plants, and to provide healthy plants that are grown with the intention of lasting many years instead of a few months. I love that when you buy a pot from them, they have a table with free potting soil and supplies to repot your plant on the spot. The customer service could not be better- from extremely knowledgeable sales staff at the greenhouses, to guides online on care tips for specific plants, to email help when you encounter an issue. I emailed them last night about a banana tree I have that is looking sick, and woke up this morning to a detailed response with what they believe is causing it and what I can do about it. Lastly, a walk around their greenhouses is like a walk on a tropical island in the middle of New England. Go in the winter time and plan to spend an hour or more-- then you can walk leisurely around, breathe in that tropical air and take a nice break from the harsh New...
Read moreI am disappointed to have to write this review. I ordered a Clematis plant from Logees, when it arrived portions of it were brown and dead and it had some type of pest on the underside of the leaves. I looked online and found photos of scale that looked exactly like the pest on the Clematis. I let Logees know about the situation and asked for a replacement. They in turn asked for photos which I sent. Their reply to me stated it did look like the plant was stressed, but the plant didn't have scale, but rather edema. I looked that up and edema looks nothing like scale or what is on this plant. They asked me to send another photo to see how the plant was doing, which I did along with another photo of the scale. I asked again for a replacement or a refund. They replied today and said they are out of Clematis and the plant looks like it will recover so I should plant it. That's not going to happen. I will be throwing this plant out so it doesn't infect any of my other plants. I only wish I could post a photo or 2 to show the condition of this plant.
I am disappointed that they don't honor their guarantee to replace or refund your purchase. Time to find another online nursery to purchase from. So...
