Ollie's Bargain Outlet — Attraction in Kingsport

The experience was okay.. they def have lots of stuff for you to spend your money on when you are browsing the store, and I'll likely go back again. However, when I asked for the training cashier to remove a few items from my buggy bc of the total being higher than I expected it to be, the manager, assistant manager, shift lead, trainer.. whatever her label is/was, that was training her told me, "it's too late to do that. I responded quickly with the comment, "it's actually the opposite.. it's most definitely not too late to pay for an item I don't wanna leave the store with. If anything it's precisely the time to return it since you wouldn't take it off my bill before I paid for it". Bottom line, I try to keep up with how much I'm spending as I put items in my cart, there's times when I miscalculate, and I've never had anyone, anywhere, tell me I couldn't take something off of my bill/total amount due before paying for it. I've also never had someone tell me directly after paying for an item that I couldn't return said item. I hate to call ppl names or be rude to anyone especially if I don't know them. That being the case, I feel this interaction made me more stupid. Thanks Ollie's...

I just left Ollie’s at 8:57pm on 4/08/2024. We entered the store at 8:37 pm. I knew exactly what I wanted. I was shopping for an area rug. I wasn’t being real picky, just a large rug. We were the only ones in the store now I see why. They girls who work the register started announcing closing. 😲📣 “we’re closing in 19 minutes, then again we’re closing in 15 minutes, then 5 minutes, then 2 minutes, and finally they were closed. The timing wasn’t even correct. They closed before 9:00. The whole experience was just rude. I realize I went in late but I had no intention of making them stay late. One lady did ask if I needed help and then informed me she didn’t have anyone there to help me with large rugs and just kept walking. I wanted a rug from there but I will go elsewhere. Customer service does make a difference and I didn’t appreciate being treated...

• UPDATE* JAN31 2022* I was shopping at the Kingsport store looking for an area rug. Tommy approached me to offer help when I make my selection. Tommy was very helpful, knowledgeable, courteous and respectful. He helped bring the 9x12 area rug up to the front at check out and also brought the rug to my car and helped put it in my car. Tommy went above and beyond in making my shopping experience perfect. Please acknowledge Tommy as being a wonderful asset to ur Ollie Team !!!
