This was our first time at Ming Garden. TLDR - we thought it was decent but ended up with food poisoning. Read on for all the details of our experience. Parking was difficult but we had high hopes when we went inside and saw the variety offered. For the most part, we both thought the food tasted good. There were some exceptions . The Mongolian chicken was almost completely onions. The pepper steak and the beef with broccoli had very weird tasting, bland beef. There were tons of very young children up at the buffet unattended (I realize this is a parenting issue and not a restaurant issue but it is worth noting). The restaurant also has an overall cleanliness issue (buffet trays stacked everywhere, part of the buffet table being used for staging to go order accoutrements with signs saying “employees only”). Our waitress was inattentive, we had to flag her down for drink refills and she did not give us more ice - just lukewarm water. She brought our check when we sat down with our second plate - as if trying to rush us out. We noticed her doing this other tables as well. I get they were busy, but at least allow us to finish a couple of plates before showing us the door! The Mongolian barbecue was good, but they were not good about keeping items and sauces refilled, I was literally tilting and scraping the sauce containers and the attendant was just staring. He didn’t make a move to refill any of them even after my food was done. We eventually paid and left. Both of us woke up the next morning with food poisoning. We will not be back at...
Read moreThis place would be a 5 star if not for the black mold everywhere and the employees... The tile floors, especially the bathrooms, are covered in black mold.... 😱 That is horrible. And the employees are less than pleasant... They could care less that you're there and the grill guy is extremely rude and hateful... he even put someone's food right back onto a plate full of raw chicken juice like it was nothing🤨 it was horrible! I had to stop the person who came back for his food to warn him what the "cook" had done...All promises are just words and they do nothing to uphold them. There is so much anger there it is toxic. Which is so sad cause I liked their food, but it is not worth being there or allowing my children Into such an atmosphere. I suggest you look somewhere else if you're looking for a buffet. Golden corral down stone drive is waaaaaaay better! Our waitress was amazing and they have the best desserts around!
Update Since my last review, the employees have greatly improved! The grill guy has even been singing when he cooks our food and tries to smile. due to health this is one of the very very few places I can eat out and it not hurt me! I wish they could get someone to help them do a deep cleaning! They just need someone who's willing and not afraid of getting...
Read moreFirst off let me say this is my first review…. We just left this place for the last time. Four of us went for my mothers birthday and not one of us ate an entire plate. It was DISGUSTING and it was almost $50 for that. The waitress was not impressed when I tried to nicely tell her it was not good. She got the manager who then questioned me like I’m an inmate. The manager told us he would give us half off and that’s great and I repeatedly thanked him. We also asked why the Mongolian grill was closed. There are no signs stating why and online it says Mongolian grill OPEN DAILY. They repeatedly told us it’s not open on Monday, like we are idiots. The tone of the manager and the girl at the check out (who I think was his wife) was rude and insulting. For many, many years this was our favorite Asian restaurant, not any more. Such a shame. If I could give zero stars I would. Not one apology, not even a smile. Hey, Ming Garden, thanks for ruining my elderly mothers birthday dinner 😢
I would like to add that my husband just told me that the girl at the check out pretty much threw his credit card back after we paid and left a tip. This...
