Just wanted to provide a little update and give credit where credit is due: after this review was posted, I got in touch with Steve, who was apologetic and managed to get us a new, upgraded fridge at no additional cost. He even delivered it the day before Thanksgiving. So far, so good with the new refrigerator! Frozen food stays frozen and cold food doesn't freeze - we're no longer losing money on food :). I sincerely appreciate the attention and care we were ultimately given, even if it started out rocky. This is absolutely the kind of service I've heard of Rebennack's providing, and I'm thankful they made it right for us. Thank you!
Old review: I've held off on writing this review for several months despite being beyond frustrated because I like to give people, and particularly small businesses, the benefit of the doubt, but I'm at my wit's end. When we started shopping for a new refrigerator I knew I wanted to go with a small business instead of a big box store for a number of reasons, chief among them reliability and service. I walked into the showroom and ordered a refrigerator in the first week of April this year. They said it would be delivered in May due to a backorder, but they would call me. Well, May came and went and I didn't hear from them, so I called. They said it would take another three weeks. Okay. Again, that timeframe came and went and I heard nothing. This cycle repeated until the end of August, when I was finally fed up with helping our old refrigerator limp along and called again to say we wanted our money back or a different refrigerator. Suddenly, during this call, when I was expressing my frustration, they were able to call their distributor directly and get the refrigerator drop-shipped. It would be delivered at the end of the week (why this couldn't have happened the entire summer is beyond me.) When it arrived, the guys delivering it dented it and gouged our floors. It also arrived with a broken fan. Almost immediately, we knew something was wrong because the freezer wasn't cold enough and the refrigerator was way too cold. Our ice cream melts, our produce freezes solid, and our soda cans explode from freezing. We've now had their repair person up four separate times to essentially look at the thing, say he doesn't know how to fix it, then leave. Finally the last time he was here he said he'd put in a ticket with Whirlpool and we'd be scheduled. It's now been over a month since then and we've heard NOTHING. AGAIN. Meanwhile, our ice cream is soup and we are absolutely hemorrhaging money from lost food. Every time I call I feel dismissed. I don't understand all the five star reviews and I feel like I'm losing my mind. Again, I've waited months to post a review because I felt like maybe this was a me problem, but I cannot continue dealing with this refrigerator in...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI bought a Maytag washer here that came with a 5 year manufacturer warranty and had nothing but problems with it about the fourth yearā¦called to have someone come out and fix it and heād so call fix it and something else wouldnāt work right a couple weeks later after having to call the repair man to keep coming out and a few of the times the day heād say heād be there and Iād make arrangements for someone to be at my home or myself leaving work early to be home so someone would be there for him to fix it and him not showing up or even calling to tell me he wasnāt going to be there or to even reschedule. (AND NO APOLOGY) After changing multiple major parts in the washer and still have issues with the washer and the last time he was at my house to fix the bearing he said it will be out of warranty now and here a few weeks later my washer is doing the exact same thing it originally started doing by not turning on and just beeping. After having this guy come out at least 8 times over a several month period to fix it I had asked him at one point why donāt they just replace the washer you have changed most of the parts on the washer already and he said they canāt. I am totally annoyed and disgusted with my experience with this business it was the first and LAST time I will ever buy a Maytag or buy any appliance with Rebennacks. It was mainly because of the repair man I really donāt think he had a clue what he was doing and was just replacing random parts when not really looking into the main issue that is causing it and thatās why it happened again. I do not usually leave reviews nor do I like to leave a bad one but I was very disappointed in my experience with Rebennacks. My washer looks new and is pretty much full of new major parts and is still not working and we have only had it for 5 years now and now Iām in the process of looking for a new one because I do not want to deal with this place again. And to pay someone to fix its not worth it. I will be looking else where for my appliances from here on out. Itās sad that things are made like junk these days and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI purchased a stainless steel refrigerator from them about a year ago. Doors began to rust and they contacted manufacturer and had replacements sent out for me. Fast forward several more months and the replacement doors have also begun to rust in addition to a fan failing.
I've been back and forth with these guys now for about 6 months in an attempt to get them replaced. Each time I call I'm told that I will get a call back and do not. I've requested refund but they will not allow me to at this point.
It's understandable for delays given that we're in a pandemic and experiencing shortages. It's not acceptable to give your customers the run around after the fact. I've been trying to get this resolved for over 6 months.
Update: 4/26/2021 - After all the back and forth, I received a call from the owner. They were unable to get the company who manufactures my refrigerator to replace the second set of replacement doors. Apparently QC at Frigidaire (now owned by ElectroLux) has taken a nosedive since their acquisition and also gave the store the runaround. The owner offered in store credit equal in value to the refrigerator I purchased and will remove the old one and send it back to them. I'm happy with this solution and wish we came to it sooner. I'm also thankful for the owner reaching out personally, explaining the issues they've had with communication with them over the last several months and for handling this.
Update: July 2023: Iāve since purchased all of my appliances through rebenaks and recommend them to all family and friends who find themselves in need of a new appliance. Since the initial review, Iāve purchased a new refrigerator, stove, microwave+range and most recently a washer. Theyāve gone above and beyond on each purchase, including on the delivery and...
