My daughter and I stopped by the East Regional Library in Knightdale, NC after learning that our memoir, The Unexpected Journey: Fire and Gold is on the featured display shelf there. We literally had to see it for ourselves so we stopped by April 27, 2021. We walked directly past it twice in looking for it but it was of no consequence because it gave us time to find other books that we both ended up checking out.
The library in and of itself was extremely clean, the display shelves were well organized, and it’s technology is well kept and up to date. To be specific there was hand sanitizer at each work station, the keyboards and mice were covered in some type of plastic film that was non-sweaty, and there were reminders throughout to wear your mask. What I found most cool is that they have a digitized biometric reader that they use on entry prior to allowing you to enter the facility.
Moving along, we asked the Librarian where we could find our book. She asked who’s the author. I smiled and said, “We are.” She smiled back and walked us right over to it. We all laughed as we recounted how we had walked past it previously. She congratulated us on our success in making it to the bookshelves while simultaneously giving us an education on how to find and locate new and featured books going forward.

The library's commitment to education is reflected in its innovative programs, which often feature guest speakers, author events, and educational workshops. These initiatives not only promote literacy but also inspire a love for learning that extends far beyond the library's walls. I would recommend East Regional Library to anyone seeking a sanctuary for the...

Although it is smaller and may not have a large supply, the staff are willing to assist and find the books and resources you need include having your preferred book borrowed from another library, finding ebooks, helping you get registered, etc. The facility is up to date with the latest technology. They offer classes and activities for the community. You can't go wrong in visiting the library. Reading an c writing is fundamental and a lost requirement in our society.
