La Casita looks like a promising small, family owned, hole in the wall. My girlfriend and I have been coming here for months.
At first, the food was better than most of the taco trucks or Mexican restaurants around Raleigh, so weâve came back numerous times. Unfortunately over the past few months the quality and flavor of the food has steadily declined. Everything tasted bland. The chicken tacos, the salsa roja, the salsa verde, and most notably of all, the guacamole. No salt, no seasonings, just bland ingredients cooked and served to you.
Iâm not sure if the cooks have been having an off few months, but the guacamole has also went from bad to worse. At first, it was just bland like everything else. But then they started to mix in more and more onions and tomatoes, which ended up leaving you with more filler than actual avocado. For the whole $7 youâre paying, it was just unacceptable. Iâd rather spend $3 for a whole avocado at the grocery and make my own guac. At least I can put seasoning in it and get more avocado than what I paid $7 for here.
The young guys that work the counter are always pleasant, but that canât save the food quality.
For two people the average cost of a meal is around $40, $45 with a tip. When youâre paying this much for what you hope to be authentic Mexican food, you should not be left disappointed.
We will be looking for a new spot for Mexican food...
Read moreWhere to begin...we Came here at the suggestion of another. We were very disappointed! there is zero ambiance. Now please look at the time this review was completed... October 4th... fall. When we first entered they were playing Frank Sinatra and then the girl working behind the counter decided and stated that it was time for CHRISTMAS MUSIC!! Not kidding... not even Halloween and being forced to listen to Noel. A comment was even made by my fiance to make then aware and said if your going to force us to listen to CHRISTMAS music you should at least give us some free breadsticks...that met with zero reaponse. During this torture our food becomes ready. Again disappointed in everything but the mozzarella sticks. The stromboli was lacking in fillings to the point it was flat. The lasagna was crying out for some oregano, garlic, and salt. Good news..another customer made a comment about the CHRISTMAS music and finally a guy came out and switched it off.
So to sum it up...very lack luster for a meal. Kinda wish we had just swung...
Read moreI ordered 2 pasta dishes, Baked Ziti with Sausage and Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo. When I get my food I open up the plastic bag which contained 2 brown bags. Both brown bags were soaked and falling apart from the sauce that leaked out. I pick up one brown bag and the Alfredo sauce was pouring out like water, now I have to clean up the table and floor before I even start to eat. The Fettuccine noodles were over cooked and water logged, there was absolutely no sauce because it spilled out and the dish itself had no season in it at all. The Garlic knots it came with were under cooked as it was still doughy in the middle. The other dish is for my wife and Iâm scared to let her try it. I tell you this was the absolute worst Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo dish I have ever had. I will not be ordering from this place again. Oh did I mention wheN I took the Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo out of the bag it was upside down. Now why in the world would they package it...
