I don’t ever really complain when I go somewhere but this is ridiculous. Good atmosphere good fans but dear god this place needs serious renovations and limits on beer. Almost witnessed a fist fight in the section we sat in because the benches are so old you can’t even see your seat numbers so that caused problems. They over sale the games there’s no way that stadium is meant to hold as many as it does there is zero room to walk not to mention almost every adult you encounter is wasted so that doesn’t help. The stairs are so narrow and you have people going up and down you have to move into one of the rows to let someone down the steps if your going up there just isn’t space for both to walk up and down at the same time. Not to mention the angle your going up the stairs is almost straight up. Went to get a pretzel and hotdog at halftime waited in line 30 minutes in a line that was blocking the whole entire walkway so people couldn’t get through. My $5 pretzel was cold and hard and covered in salt from end to end. Had my knees in someone else’s back and someone’s knees in mine the whole time we were crammed in there so bad. Very narrow walkway trying to leave the bench seats had People tripping and almost falling onto people below them. The game was a good experience loved the atmosphere. The stadium needs serious work done to it. Accident waiting to happen. If you are planning on attending an event at neyland stadium do not sit in the bench seat sections. Definitely one of the lower tier stadiums in...
Read moreI was a freshman at UT in 1970. My first trip to Neyland Stadium on a September Saturday was to watch the Tennessee Vols thump SMU. It was transformative, as I screamed,"Go Big Orange," from the epicenter of Big Orange Country. Neyland Stadium has only improved over the years with updated seating and amenities. Crowds always number over a 100,000 and are well managed. Tickets for SEC games are available from secondary venders like SeatGeek. Plan to arrive early and take in the pre-game festivities such as the Vol Walk and grab some great Tennessee barbecue. You gotta have your Orange on ... if you don't have something, stop at the UT bookstore next to the stadium. Check out the Vol Navy as fans arrive in boats on the Tennessee River, and dock next to the stadium. Once inside the stadium you will be engulfed in a sea of Orange, hearing "Good Ol Rocky Top," played by the Pride of the Southland Band. The song is repeated all game long. Most day games are played under the bright orange sun in the Tennessee autumn sky. There is not a bad seat in the stadium. The removal of the hedges a few years ago has provided a clearer view of the players on the bench and sidelines. There are hotels within walking distance to the stadium. Hotels west of town provide to and from shuttle service to the game. After attending a Vol game, perhaps you'll see why you'lll wantr to come back ... "Good Ol' Rocky Top ... woo-oo-o ... you'll always be...
Read moreWell where do we start.. Apparently famous people played here, greats like Johnny Majors, Doug Atkins, Reggie White, and some guy named Payton.. something.. ( sorry, new to the area ) seats 102k, all natural Bermuda Grass and alot of Orange, but surprised to see no oranges being sold, should suggest that to the manager. They say you can tell alot about a place by the... People... That frequent the establishment.. and I will say, they are friendly and fun to be around and very accommodating to people of a different color, so to see Orange(TN) and Garnet (SC), enjoying a game together.. brings hope to US all.. There are ALOT of regulars here.. I can tell because .. I would say about 50k fans all sing along to the instrumental house band named " Pride of the Southland", which were tight and jammed along whiled they play.. very engaging...however disappointed that 20 tubas, but not a single fiddle or banjo.. .. so fans and field get 5 star, the band will keep 5 stars ( even though your name might be misleading ) the stadium gets 4 stars ( Tennessee don't act like don't know your bathrooms are.... Well you know ) so would of been a 4 star review.. however.. Friends in Low places played over the epic sound system, and even though the song had to stop as play resumed, the strong fans in orange came together, and finished it out.. so to the proud volunteers.. " we'll slip on down to the Oasis, cause I got friend in...
