I prepaid $121.52 for tickets online. Had to stand in line for two hours (literally two hours) with all the people who had not bought tickets yet. Not to mention the nightmare it was to find a place to park beforehand. It was hot inside the building with the hundreds of people in line. Once we got to the guy checking our QR codes and handing out the arm bands we discovered he didn't scan the code or really pay attention to it. I held up my phone with the code and he just asked me how many people I had and handed me three wrist bands. I could have taken a picture of a QR code on a Doritos bag and used that. The main reason for being there was, my daughter wanted the autograph of one of the voice actors. We made our way around the perimeter of the room shoulder to shoulder with the mass of others. There was a large group of people in front of the person we were trying to get to. No obvious line, just a mass of people. My wife and daughter got in line (joined the group). After standing there for thirty to forty minutes an announcement was made that the Dragonball Z line would be cut short because there were too many people. We got cut off. My daughter cried. They mentioned something about coming back the next day if you had some kind of note or something. We had no note. We could not come back the next day even if I had the note. I'm out $121.52 dollars. My daughter was heart broken. The definition of RIP OFF. There will never be a day in my life where I will darken...
Read moreThe Dogwood Arts Home & Garden show at the Knoxville Convention Center, February 9-11, 2024. My Girlfriend and I were in attendance. I had not been in the Knoxville Convention Center in years. My biggest worry was is it Handicap accessible. We went and found out that it is. We entered on the Main Level across the street the Marriott which sitting closely to the Worlds Fair site. We did Valet Parking at the Marriott, which was helpful because I had to unload the Electric Wheelchair before going to the Show (across the street). As I said, we entered on the main level then found out we needed to go down 2 levels for the Show itself. There was a lady sitting at a Table who directed us to the Elevators. We went down 2 levels to the main entrance for the Home & Garden show. There were a lot of Vendors there, I did not stop at many Vendor Stations. I did talk with the KUB Fiber folks and at another station I met a fellow amputee, we had a great conversation. The whole Home & Garden Show was awesome. I hope they have it again. It was to support the Dogwood Arts.
The Knoxville Convention Center was clean, parking was a nightmare with the rain but many options, Wheelchair accessible as well. The Vendors & Staff were helpful as well.

Read moreWe visited the convention center for the Wing Ding this year as vendors. The location is a touch difficult to get in and out of logistically however the parking lot across the street is a great size and did not pose any problems. Just a tip for faster entrance into the convention center, do not walk across the street instead walk over the bridge path to the left when you are leaving the parking lot it saves time at the light and you are able to walk through the breathtakingly beautiful park in front of the convention center. The building is beautiful and inside it is spacious with a modern in date design. I would say the only improvement I would mention would be the use of lights in the convention hall. The lifting cast a grey haze from the fluorescent lamps and it made for an odd feeling when you first enter the hall. Other than that the building is magnificent and its size never allowed the hall to feel claustrophobic regardless of the amount of attendees. It was an honor to use the facility and I hope to do so again if the...
