Everyone there was nice and the facility was nice as well but I think there might have been some missed communication issues. I went to get a purple balayage. In order to do that you have to strip my hair (it's dark brown). So she stripped my hair and put this silvery color in it because she said it would help lighten it for the purple. I thought "okay great hair still looks cool and I can just put it up for the concert this weekend." I asked her if we'd be adding color my next visit and she said yes. When I got consulted Teresa said it would cost for the whole thing around $200+, so I was okay with that but that's how much I ended up paying the first day. I was confused so I asked how much it would be for the next appointment and she said around $100+ because we were just coloring. (Teresa was not my stylist btw) when I came back I was under the impression that once I sat down my hair was going to be colored but before I could ask and stop what was happening she put bleach in my hair. Needless to say I was confused because we hadn't discussed adding more bleach and so I just sat there confused and trying not to cry. I knew that I was going to have to pay money I didn't have. After everything was done my hair was a total mess. It looked awful but I said it looked great because I wanted to get out of there. She charged me over $300 and my heart sank. Couldn't tip (not that I really wanted to) and had to find money to transfer into my account. I dont remember the stylists name but I wont be going back. My hair started falling out a month later and by the time I found a new stylist the damage had been done. My new stylist did however explain why my hair was stripped twice which was reassuring but I don't recommend this place if you plan on getting your hair colored especially if you have...
Ā Ā Ā Read more**pics of me holding the end of my hair to the top to compare tone differences, and the other is side-by-side photo of the pic I showed her what I wanted done vs what I received.
Iām not one to be āthat personā and complain on a review like this, but Iām hoping at the very least it could save someone elseās hair.
I found Taylor Jenae (@hairbytayjenae) on Instagram. Her photos looked nice. I decided to book an appointment. I fully regret going to see her.
The picture I showed her was a bright blonde with little root. Taylor left my hair with a LOT of root and two different tones. The color she did on the top was brassy orange blonde. The bottom was bright ashy blonde. So my hair went from dark root, to orange, to ashy blonde almost a gray color. I probably could have messed my own hair up this bad for $15 instead of paying her $260 without tip ($300 after tipping her) to do it for me.
I texted her and asked if she could possibly fix the tone differences. She kept making excuse after excuse of why my hair looked the way it did, blaming it on my water and my shampoo even. She didnāt offer to fix it or to give any kind of refund for her services. She said the best she could do would be to balayage it again. So she didnāt really seem to care that she messed my hair up and her work was bad and the only solution she offered was for me to spend another $260. Iāll take my loss and see someone else next time. I will not trust her to go anywhere near my hair again.
Please learn from my mistake. If you want blonde hair, look elsewhere for a stylist. She is not skilled at getting it right and after sheās paid she doesnāt care if youāre satisfied with the results or not. Doesnāt seem like she wants continued business. Hoping this helps...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis review is for Shelby. If you're like me and have no idea what you're doing, just looking through Google for places. It's important to note that each hairstylist in dollhouse salon is their own independent contractor, pretty much renting a space and running a business for themselves but all out of the same building. Therefore each hair stylist has their own personal prices. Shelby charges $60 for her haircuts but you get a lot more than just a haircut and it's so worth it! She makes you feel very pampered. Each haircut comes with a wash, She uses really good shampoo and conditioner and gives a nice long and AMAZING head massage, followed by a cut and she styled mine. My hair needed A LOT of help and good advice and she took the time to do that for me and recommended a shampoo and conditioner that have helped tremendously, plus what to avoid in products like curl creams and gels that would mess with my hair. Im a mom that hadn't had a cut or even had time to mess with my hair since before my son was born ( 4 years) and my hair was so bad. I was so embarrassed of it. I would just gell it down as much as I could and put it up in a ponytail everyday. The first photos are from before my cut (obviously lol š) the second set of photos is after. The biggest photo in the picture(left side) is the day she cut it, top right is 3 months after, and bottom right is me this morning (4 months) right after I woke up before any styling. I missed my 3 month trim with her I need to schedule soon, but I am still thoroughly impressed by how ginormous of a difference it is!...
