Costeau Park — Attraction in Laguna Hills

Has a good shaded area over the kids playground with a sitting ledge that runs along most of the playground for parents to sit in the shade yet still be readily available just a few steps away. A nice big grassy area ideal for throwing ball or flying a kite There’s a human & dog water fountain along the path leading to the picnic tables & bbq grills by the basketball court. Also doggie bag dispensers located closer to the baseball diamond so that’s why I find it a great place for dogs. It’s really a perfect place to meet when you’re using the 5 fwy. The only downside I can think of is there’s no restrooms but less than a stoplight away is a Starbucks & Taco Bell that would be sufficient enough. Shot some hoops here this evening. Pretty decent court surface but one of the rims/backboards was bent downward slightly which made some shots easier and others harder. Nets were in decent shape. Overall pretty good for a neighborhood public park court. Not lighted but there are some park lights that might illuminate the court a little. I left at dusk...
