I have been a Dutch Bros fan for years, especially at the La Quinta location, which I’ve always loved. So when I heard one was opening in my hometown, I was beyond excited. Unfortunately, this new location has been nothing but a disappointment.
The first time I went, the wait for my drinks was about 20 minutes. I gave them grace since they were still new and likely working out the kinks. However, on my next visit—early in the morning with hardly any cars in the drive-thru and just a couple of people at the walk-up window—it still took 20 minutes to get my drinks. I tried to overlook it.
But today was the last straw. I arrived at 7:25 a.m. and placed my order. There were only a few cars in line and two people at the window. By 7:55 a.m., I still didn’t have my drinks. When I asked, I was told it would be another 10 minutes because they were “short staffed.” Having worked in the food industry for 5 years, I can say this is not an acceptable excuse. If you’re short staffed, stop taking new orders and focus on fulfilling the ones already placed.
Yes, I was refunded, but that doesn’t give me back the 30 minutes I wasted, nor does it excuse being late to work because of such poor operations. And before anyone says, “Why wait that long?”—that’s exactly the problem. Customers shouldn’t have to wait 30+ minutes for a drink, especially something as simple as a Rebel and an Irish Kicker.
This location needs to do better. I won’t be returning, which is sad because I truly love Dutch Bros and the La Quinta location has always...
Read moreI didn’t understand why it takes so long to get a coffee. Placed a mobile order thinking it be faster. Definitely not. I can see why this location takes so long. They are so unorganized, the girl standing at the window checking in the mobile orders was just useless, the lack of communication was not good. Another customer was complaining about her order taking long that she had to leave. The girl taking the mobile orders didn’t bother mentioning it to the others. So 10 minutes later the customers drinks started coming out and she’s just simply saying “oh she left”, like had you mentioned it right when she left other customers drinks could have been worked on! My mobile up was to be ready by 8:02 and it was 8:20 and was not done, so I had to leave. Beyond frustrating to see the employees not really caring that they have a lot of people waiting, two of the girls were just joking around saying how many orders they had! I’ve been to the location in Oceanside and had nothing but a great experience. When drinks are ready they will come out and hand them to you and not wait until you get...
Read moreI’m a bit disappointed in the quality of the drinks. I have visited this location four times now trying different styles of coffee and each time the coffee was overly brewed causing an acidic/bitter taste or their Americanos are completely watered down. I ordered a large drink via the app and was missing 3 out of the four extras like cinnamon sprinkles, Caramel drizzle and half n half. The bar workers need to be a bit more trained in possible execution of the drinks. I’m not sure if it’s the style the coffee that is prepared prior is to ensure efficient waiting time for customers? My coffee just has been horrible each time, either not enough flavor or melting ice with coffee. I have had the same order for a while now and have visited multiple locations in the inland empire and it is perfect for my taste but here it is never a positive outcome. As a business owner myself this establishment needs to review consistently the way their coffee is prepared each day to ensure a constant positive outcome of iced coffees especially as it is ran by younger teens trying to ensure quality...
