I brought my HP Laptop in to have the top replaced due to broken hinges in March of 2020. I was urged to just purchase a new computer, but since it was fairly new, I insisted that they repair it. I spent over $400 on the repair and when I got it back, the camera wasn't hooked up. I called and they said they would fix it. COVID happened, and I didn't bring it back because I honestly didn't trust them. My USB ports no longer worked to upload my pictures, and my battery no longer held the 9 hour charge like it did before I brought it to them. I've had to keep it hooked up to the power source for it to continue to work. This morning it shut off while it was hooked up to the power source. Reluctantly, I called them to express all of my concerns, and Brian was very rude and disrespectful and told me that he suggests that I take it somewhere else, because I obviously have some trust issues with them. Absolutely, I do. They worked on my desktop years ago, and it was never the same after it was in their possession. I forgot about it until my husband reminded me after I told him about all of the issues I was having, but it was too late. They didn't hook up my laptop's camera, and Tyler said they they would fix it, but Brian, the owner, tells me today that he can't help me. Simply because I called him out on his fraudulent practices. The battery that is with my computer is not the battery that was bought with this laptop. I'm so upset that a business operates in this manner. All I asked him to do was to make this right, but he says that he can't help me, and he could tell from the beginning of our conversation that he could not help me. I'm highly disappointed and disgusted that he does business this way. They tried to get me to purchase a new computer at the start of this, and I feel they have messed up my computer to try to charge me more money to fix the issues that they caused. The repair was not completed, as the camera says it isn't connected, so they need to do something to make this right, but judging by the other I resolved complaints, I doubt they will. Read moreFor the past 5 days I have been dealing with a dead / hinging machine - one which i rely on to stream consistently each day. It was narrowed down to the RAM, PSU (power-supply unit), and/or Motherboard (in order from least to most expensive). Because of poor maintenance, bad surge-protection, and a few literal bugs in the system, several contacts on the Motherboard were fried. Throughout the diagnostics, StarTech's professionalism was in balance with their inventory (for users who need to be back up and running reliably at (really) fair pricing) was in balance with their commitment to produce a good and fair outcome, but above all they are endearing and friendly and this is why by name I have to thank Justin, Patrick, and Tyler (Billy gets a shout-out too, as he wasn't involved with my particular case but was still personable and helped the moment i asked for a screwdriver).
The outcome: one dead mobo, 1/3 dead RAM sticks, and a dead PSU, and a morning (2-hour period) at the shop had me back to 100% (and my wallet breathed a sigh of relief). Any gamer, streamer, or self-contracted worker who needs consistent and reliable hardware to match must understand why such local shops as this one are indispensable. Lake City represent.

These guys are amazing, i brought my laptop and my PC for some driver installs and a possible trade in towards fixing the PC, Tyler Christian and Justin all have been extensively helping me, they got my laptop up and running and are diagnosing my PC with precision and care, they noticed some bent pins on my cpu socket and informed me about possible shortages due to the bent pins, it's actually wonderful how much caution and care they have tooken with my items not to mention the time! For anyone reading this review, please check these guys FIRST, don't go anywhere else before you talk to them, pricing, precision, care and apprehensive awareness are all on point, I'm 1000 percent satisfied and even if i wasn't, there isn't anything bad to say, they will do everything in thier power and then some to make sure your needs are met, great job guys!
