Good food! Extremely poor service and commitment to the customer! My experience tonight was unreal, and this was my fourth visit. My family and I are celebrating my son's 17th birthday and good seafood was on the menu. We had a good time to say the least. Doggy bag and bill came, we were happy and on our way home when we realized we had left 1 and a half full meals on the table in the to-go bag. We hadn’t been gone more than five minutes and returned immediately only to discover that our food was thrown away right after we left. This was a large order, so the bag was heavy and tied. I was hoping that after asking if we needed doggy bags and realizing that we just left after spending over $150 with a $20 tip for good service, that we might be back before closing within 20 minutes or so to retrieve. When we arrived, I asked to speak with the manager who was assisting someone else at the time (family members) assisted me promptly and told me that she was the manager and there is nothing they can do... Her approach, demeanor and attitude were off for me as she was the manager, so I asked that something be done because I just left… I want my food or my money back. The server told my wife that she can get it out the trash. I was willing to accept my food out of the trash at this point because it was secured but was told to get it myself by the manager. Floored I ask to speak to someone with more authority to help rectify the situation. I was told that they were not on sight and again nothing we can do. At tis point customers are getting involved as most of them just saw me left but one customer had a few choice words for my sons and I. That is when it was made clear that the manager is his wife where he works as well. Realizing that this is getting out of hand, I continued to seek some satisfaction. The manager came from the back saw what she claimed was a confrontation with a customer and called the cops. Lake City’s finest came and got a summary of the situation and sought resolution. (Thank you LCPD) This is when I learned after all that my family and I had just went through, that they were remaking the food and had not made me aware yet. (That is all I wanted) During the waiting process the banter continues with now the server being rude and disrespectful when she just threw my food away and got tipped for just brining the food. In any event we were good with that. However, at that point I needed my tip back for principal. Always go the distance for your guest. I just witnessed the same server run out the door to give a customer there hat back that was left behind. I really feel like she could have held my food until closing which was quickly approaching. No phone call or attempt to get right back would have been a loss. I can accept that. What I cannot accept from any business that I spend money is the lack of customer service. This whole situation could have been avoided if the Manager had said “I am so sorry about what just happened. Let me see what I can do to rectify the situation”, along with people minding their business. When all was said and done, I spoke to someone who may have been the owner, got my tip back (I think) and was told goodnight by the husband. I left peacefully with good seafood in tow. I'm use to walking into a restaurant, being greeted and sat at a table by the one that greeted me, not have to wait on a busy waitress to stop waiting on her customers to come and get menus and seat us. Everything we order was very good, except the lobster tail, it was stuck to the shell and left a lot of meat in the shell that I had to leave or sit there and try to dig it out of the shell. The meat that did come out of the shell was very tough and rubbery as if it was severely over cooked. Sorry, but I'm not a fan of paying $20.00 for a lobster tail that's only maybe 3 or 4 ounces of meat. At that rate, that's $80 to $100 per pound for lobster tail! Which is utterly RIDICULOUS! Next, my wife had ordered the sweet potato fries. They were cut waffle style and, along with the hush puppies, were the only thing that was good. My fried oysters were encased it very thick and hard batter and my fries were so bad that I told my server (I seldom say anything but he specifically asked). I didn't eat them but he made no offer to adjust the price of my meal.
