The best place still around in Lake City for all your craft needs , since unfortunately, Michael's has left us some time ago. There are only 2 qualms that I personally hole towards Hobby Lobby, but these are my own personal opinions , and you know what people say about that. Everyone's got one. The two issues i have always had, long-standing as it has been, since Hobby Lobby's inception has been the either by subliiminal, or out right blatantcy of it, use of religion and the fusion of religion and nationalism in armpit of their products and the way in which they treat their workers. When i go in, and look around the statuettes of the interior decor section, there will ALWAYS be that 'One God, One Nation' and 'Blesed' sign here and there. And also the CEO Mr. Green, and his memoires set out for sale so poignant in the middle of the way as you walk in. I understand that Hobby Lobby was founded by Mr. Green, et al on the virtues of the Christian faith, and by no means am I attempting to 'bash' or discredit this concept, although when words like 'God' and 'Nation' come together, when nationalism meets religion, I very nervous. I am not one who espouses the combination of politics, or religion and state, because i am apposed to the mixture of such, but that's another story for anotyer day. What gets me the most is the insurance policies surrounding the female workers of this company and what they can have covered and not. This is the only company that I know of, that through 'religions values' prohibits the famale employee from certain reproductive medicine and medical procedures. This to me is a very backward, "one step foreward, thirteen steps back" type of situation that has always made me discontent with any religion or philosohy. And it doesn't matter what religion or philosophy it be: oppression is oppression. No matter the belief of philosophy. Other than that , they have all you need, albeit some items could be found cheaper elsewhere if you have the patience, but if in need , the ...
Read moreI understand there is a little "spin" to Hobby Lobby coupon marketing. But when the sign is literally in front of something and the snooty clerks (yes two) claim something is not part of that category when the item was literally on the shelf behind the 50% off sign. I can't help to think it's a scam. This is the second time in recent memory this has happened and today's interaction with the two cashiers was very irritating. The thing that makes it worse is HL continued push they are a Christian company. Their coupon schemes and adhoc policy exceptions are not good business and definitely not very Christian. I went in today to get a gift and four gift cards and only left with a gift, which is only available in our...
Read moreMy first trip here for Christmas shopping. We loved all the great deals, or so we thought. We started watching the items ringing up, and see that none of the posted discounts are appearing. I called out one to the cashier, and she said "the register gets them automatically". I watched some more and realized she's not even scanning them. I watched some more and started pulling stuff out that are showing discounts. She stated that the store doesn't use bar codes. That's when I decided that I wouldn't be back until these people enter the 80's. In the 40+ years that they've been the standard, the only people not using them are likely laundering cash for someone else. Deceptive signage, and sketchy...
