Firs off, I have only used a food pantry when I was homeless and living in a tent, so I do not look for food unless genuinely in need. I called to ask if Denton was an acceptibke location to live in to get food from their food pantry, (Keep in mind that this church states on their website that they take donations from the target denton as well as NTFB) and was told that they do not and was quickly referred to a haphazard google search led by a defensive and selfishly undertoned voice of who i assume was a woman simply listing off search google results without knowing if the locations still gave food, or were even running anymore while repeating "i see 5 right off the bat right here". I asked if they ran out of food quickly because they are only open 2 hours on 2 obscure weekdays, and was quickly deflected with the statement "we take donation from the community, so we try to keep it in OUR COMMUNITY." Discriminating on hping humanity is up there on par with hatred and racism. Selfishly minimizing food pantry running costs to line their pockets by only feeding the 3 or 4 most nearby towns a piddly 2 hours biweekly. Shame on you! This is why I am not...

I could “shop” from shelf foods and take a little from each grouping of packaged meat, beans, cereals, produce, snacks etc. Also, the volunteer staff set up a cart with frozen/refrigerated and fresh produce, meat, dairy, bread, dessert and eggs.
