Coach Rich (the owner) is straight-up dangerous. The sparring etiquette at this gym is appalling as I've seen his kids go up against larger and older boxers. This would typically result in his kids getting a BLOODY mouth or bloody nose. Even when his students are clearly outmatched, he refused to stop the session and would just give them generic advice like "keep pushing" or "be a fighter". On top of this, I have routinely seen eight year old's hitting each other as hard as possible over and over again without ANY supervision. This attitude towards sparring is outdated, irresponsible, and dangerous. While "coach" Rich might say I'm soft for having this mindset, I would say I just recognize the severity of brain damage and CTE. I attended this gym for a month or two and during that time he coached around FIVE lessons in total. It was basically an open gym where students come and train however they would like with minimal instruction. Generally, the only time he was active in the gym was during sparring sessions - which were essentially fights. If you are a blood-thirsty person looking to get into fights routinely, then look no further, this gym is your home. However, if you are a parent that wants your children to learn martial arts, please consider the various other options in the area. There are so many other gyms where your children will be respected, safe, and receive actual instruction. The fact that this Rich guy receives TAXPAYER money to have children slug it out daily without meaningful instruction is incredibly frustrating to me. The only thing that is acceptable about this gym is Nate. Nate takes it upon himself to instruct the kids properly and actually takes the time to teach them. If Nate was the head instructor and owner, I would still happily be at this gym and you would be reading a five-star review. This is the ONLY review I have ever left for ANYTHING. Which should be very telling with how strongly I...
Read morethis is an extremely well rounded gym that provides knowledge to boxers at any level. The boxers and trainers are phenomenal at engaging the fundamentals and techniques that typical boxing gyms fail to produce. These guys will motivate, challenge, and inspire you to continue accomplishing goals you only imagined. The advanced group is essential for boxers that want to compete in amateur events, the ability to have 90min of training 5 days a week is crucial as to why I choose this place over anybody else. Legacy has taught me much more than just boxing. It’s shown me my work ethic, discipline, and dedication that continues to inspire me inside and outside of the ring. Thank you rich for an opportunity like this and I highly recommend this gym for all ages and...
Read moreThis place has been such a Godsend and the coaches are very good at building character, confidence, self elsteem, self love and a great supportive energy that is rare to see in gyms nowadays. A judgement free zone that is very professional, very thorough with training. If you are interested in competing there are plenty of opportunities. It is your choice. There is no pressure to compete, if you are only interested in learning the art of boxing that is also okay. I have two kids that are in this gym. My daughter will also be next year(too young). I'm happy and blessed my family is a part of the Legacy Boxing...
