Gorton Drama Studio with Jeremy Kruse — Attraction in Lake Forest

I’ve been working with Jeremy for 3 months now. I’ve taken private lessons with him as well as group lessons in his adult acting sessions. I consider taking Jeremy’s acting classes to be one of the best things I’ve ever done for myself as a person and as a professional. Jeremy genuinely cares about each of us and tailors his advice to what each and every one of his students wants to achieve. He’s created an environment that is positive and uplifting. The other adults who are enrolled in his group sessions are such a great time to be around and I will forever remember getting to work with them! Acting can be intimidating if it’s your first time and Jeremy is a true artist at making you feel comfortable around him and all of your other classmates. He’s great at giving you constructive criticism when needed. Jeremy is an expert at the craft of acting and he knows the industry inside and out. He has the background to prove it. The Gorton Center is an absolutely STUNNING facility where all of his classes take place and I think I speak on behalf of all my other classmates when I say how grateful we are to work there.

I can’t even begin to express what his classes have done for me personally, and with the aspirations to pursue this as a career, I know Jeremy is there for me every step of the way professionally.

After my first film audition, in as many years, it was quite evident I needed an acting instructor. For months, I looked high and low to find the right one. I wanted an instructor who could challenge me, yet in a nurturing manner. An instructor who can speak confidently about the craft. Above all, an instructor you look forward to seeing every session. Jeremy Kruse is all that and then some.

Within weeks of pairing up, my acting style/delivery is far more conversational. Plus, I’m more at ease when working to find the true essence of a character to develop and make my own.

I always walk away from Jeremy’s sessions learning something new. Jeremy’s constant encouragement has propelled my confidence, as an actor, to another level.

Initially, I wasn’t really into the idea of taking acting classes via Online. The idea sounded so impersonal and potentially distracting, not with Jeremy. It's as if he's working with you, face-to-face, in a studio.

In addition to acting, Jeremy has been so supportive with my first attempt in writing a screenplay. He's such a creative influence.

We hired Jeremy to help my 11yo son to act well in a student/brother-led film production last year. The purpose was to give him competence to help him with that particular social situation, which wasn’t going very well.

The results were much better than I expected. Overall, our son gained a lot confidence in the acting as well as in unrelated social situations. I believe the improvement has led to more positive feedback resulting in a positive spiral of maturity in his life.

His acting has improved substantially over the course of filming, where an older student involved commented on how well he was acting. This was particularly encouraging because in that social circle our son had little respect.

Jeremy has done an excellent job in meeting our son where he’s at and taking him to the next level. He has listened respectfully to us as parents and applies our requests to the lessons sensitively while also listening to our son and picking selections that appeal to him.

The filming has finished, but we are continuing lessons with Jeremy because of the great work he has done and the positive impact on our family.
