As I am sure everyone has been shopping here for years, I buy all the little stuff as well as large house appliances. As the years have went on service has just gotten worse and worse. But recently it was just so bad. We needed a new washer and dryer and the store was no help they told us it was better for us to just go home and purchased online which then of course we couldn't get any questions answered and after waiting a week which would be the soon as to get a matching washer and dryer the Installation crew was late, did not give us a 30 minute notice, gave us the worst attitude that I have ever seen any installation crew give me. Plus after the installation crew install the washer dryer in the garage easy access from the front of the house threw the garage they just plugged them in and left and told us to just let them run through a cycle to make sure they work, wouldn't you think they should wait to make sure they work??? 1st we notice the hoses were tangled, then of course they did not take off any of the stickers or tape on the outside, and left trash in street. But the worst of it was that they didn't even turned the water on to the washer so after 10 minutes of watch watching it my wife and i realized there was a problem because they didn't turn the water on. What was the point of installation if they work on a completed? Did they damage the washer??? We even called installation company to complain but of course never hear back from anyone following up to ensure customer satisfaction. I will never buy an appliance again from home depot, I will try Sears or somewhere else. Home depot has gotten so bad I highly recommend that you take a second look somewhere else for appliances. Read moreI went to paint dept&showd the guy the product i wanted.I told him i had placed an order online&it was at the wrong store.He said i think its online only&it was shippd to the store.I told him no, not true it was at the store&they pulled it from the shelf.I told him it was shown to be at the store.He said ok whats the sku number.I gave him 267011.He walked over to the lady in the paint dept&started having a discussion.I heard her say its online only. He typed on the computer. Looked for 2 seconds then walked over to me and said sorry its not here. I told him i went online and it said it was here.then i asked him what the store address was.he said i dont know.then i asked the lady she said i dont know.i told them its ridiculous that they dont know the store address.he said sorry mame we did all we could.i went to customer service and asked her if she knew the address because the employees in paint didnt.she told me the address.then i asked her if the store had the same access to stock information system that was online.she said yes.i told her the employees in paint claimed to not be able to find it.she asked for the sku.then she said we have 14 in stock lets go find it.while we were walking she said sometimes our system doesnt work for us to find it but this time it worked.(she said it to cover for the bad customer service from the employees in the paint dept).we walked right over to the aisle and she found it. The other employees didnt care about helping me because im african american. The paint department employee didnt go in the system to find it. Read moreI wouldn't normally review a Home Depot store, but I had an experience that I had to give credit to the store manager for, and anyone visiting this store should know the kind of man is who is in charge of this location.
It was a Sunday evening, I didn't realize they closed earlier so I ended up heading into the store 10min before closing needing a toilet. I brought a cart inside and made a small return first asking the lady if I had time to get a toilet. She was firm on saying absolutely not. I then asked another employee on my way back to my cart that had disappeared, and he said technically it's possible with 8 minutes remaining.
Me not wanting to be "that guy", and a look of absolute defeat on my face from fighting repairs at my house all day and just feeling overwhelmed, I walked out. An employee near the front asked "hey is everything alright man?" I almost didn't know what to say but I ended up mentioning I just wanted to get a toilet, I already had the model picked out. He then mentioned it's his store and we can get you that toilet, no problem. He proceeded to grab my cart, walk me to a few other employees, told them to lead me to my said toilet AND give me $20 off at the register.
No more than 5 minutes later I was out the door waving with a smile on my face with my new toilet, which I successfully installed moments later.
It's a small gesture like this, that really turned my day around. I was able to tell the story to my wife when I got home with a smile on my face instead of frustrations from my entire day.
