Family Tattoo — Local services in Lake View Township

Highly recommend! My sister and I wanted to get matching tattoos at the last minute (we had the design for years but finally decided to pull the trigger). We googled tattoo artists in Chicago and Family Tattoo was highly ranked. I reached out to them and a couple other businesses to schedule a time and get a price quote. Family Tattoo quickly responded. The price was fair and they had an opening a day or so later.

My sister and I ended up with Lee who is the owner (we didn't know it initially). This was my third tattoo but my sister's first tattoo. I highly recommend Lee for people who are experienced or newbies! This was the most pleasant experience I've had with a tattoo artist. My other artists did not speak to me at all outside of confirming the design. It was a very boring, sterile experience. Lee was patient, friendly, and nice. He also helped calm my sister's fears when it was her turn. We got tattoos on our inner left arm. It was quick and relatively painless. He wrapped them in plastic which we kept on for three days. Afterwards it was just water, soap, and lotion. No irritation and it looks beautiful! The shop was also clean in a fun area of Chicago.

I’m pretty late on this review but I had to get it done. I’m from Ohio and came to Chicago for a day back in June. I had my heart set on getting a tattoo but most places were appointment only so they weren’t taking walk-ins. I found Family Tattoo online and got an appointment with Lee Leahy within the hour. He was super cool, down to earth, I could tell he loved his job by the way he talked, nice, had great conversation, and strong attention to detail. He told us about a bunch of local spots we had to visit during our stay. He worked on the drawing of my tattoo for a minute to make sure it was exactly what I was asking for. Thoroughly told me everything I needed to know & do to make sure my tattoo healed well. I listened and did what was told, and a month later my tattoo looks perfect and healed just fine. I’m new to the tattoo world and searched for a while for an artist that would be a mutually good fit. A friend sent me Brian Nazario’s work and I was instantly impressed. He was willing to answer questions/ideas via instagram DM’s which I really appreciated. He was super open-minded and enthusiastic about my custom design request. On the day of my appointment, he took extra time to look through my other custom design ideas in hopes to create a half sleeve. This went 30 minutes into our appointment and he didn’t even mind. Once we started, I was shocked at how little pain his tattooing caused. Tbh, I fell asleep for a bit and realized I probably shouldn’t be snoring while this poor dude is tryna work.
