Bingo!!! Found my new Mediterranean spot. So excited. Just moved from the west and left my favorite Mediterranean restaurant. Solely found this spot becauae Roscoe Village/Lakeview was having their own restaurant week. We got to try appetizers, main entree, and dessert. What a great concept to try a new restaurant. This location was easy to find and there was parking right in front and on the side of the restaurant.
Restaurant itself is small. They had about four or five tables inside. Very well lit and clean inside. We opted for takeout. Ordered: Falafel, Mediterranean Salad, Mixed Meat Shawarma Plate (salad, rice, pitas), & Baklava. Very impressed with the presentation of food. Taste of the food was on point. Enjoyed every morsel of this meal. Both chicken and beef shawarma was flavored just right. We had leftovers on salad and plate for tomorrow. Sadly we ate all the baklava and wished we ordered more.
Customer service was also prime here. Everyone was friendly and answered all our questions. Next time I believe my husband will get a Gyro and I will get a chicken shawrma wrap. Plus we gotta stock up on dessert.
Thanks Sinya for the pleasant dinner. Can't wait to try more. Please give this...

Chicago is home to some truly outstanding Mediterranean food, so the bar is set pretty high—and unfortunately, Sinya Mediterranea doesn't quite hit the mark. It’s not bad by any means, but it also doesn’t leave a lasting impression.
We tried the mixed grill entrée and the gyro plate. The grilled meats were tender and flavorful enough, but they lacked that bold, char-grilled taste that I love and expect from good Mediterranean cooking. The rice was standard—nothing particularly memorable—and it would’ve been nice to see more variety.
The salad felt like an afterthought; wilted greens and minimal dressing didn’t do much to freshen the plate. Hummus was decent, but again, not a standout. Honestly, I was glad I asked for sauce because none came with the meals by default, and they definitely needed that extra something.
Service was fine, and the place is clean, but in a city packed with exceptional Mediterranean options, Sinya feels just a notch above average. If you're nearby and craving something casual, it might do the trick—but if you're searching for that unforgettable Mediterranean flavor, you may want to...
Read moreReally excellent Mediterranean food, hands down the best I've had in Chicago! I ordered the mixed kabob plate, lentil soup, and mango juice. The chicken and beef kabobs were so tender and full of flavor, I couldn't believe how delicious they were! I was truly astonished and impressed. Rice, salad, and hummus were also great.
I was also blown away by the mango juice! It tasted exactly like biting into a perfectly ripe and sweet mango. A little on the sweet side, but I mixed in some water and it was perfect!
So why am I giving 4 stars? Unfortunately, the lentil soup was not so good. There were no visible lentils and it didn't really taste like lentil soup, more like plain chicken broth. I hope they will consider changing their recipe; it just lacked flavor overall.
Despite this, the kabobs were so good that I 100% will be ordering again. Sinya is great and I highly recommend...
